PRINCIPAL INNOVATION OFFICER, KENIA GRADE 5 – JG N (6 POSTS)
The Principal Innovation Officer will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and coordination in the formulation, implementation, and evaluation of innovation programs and initiatives. This role requires strong analytical abilities, program management expertise, and a deep understanding of national innovation systems.
Job Description
- Provide leadership in the development, review, and implementation of innovation frameworks, strategies, and policies.
- Oversee the design and execution of innovation support programs that enhance technology transfer, commercialization, and uptake of innovative products and services.
- Facilitate coordination among universities, research institutions, industry players, and government agencies to promote synergy in innovation.
- Lead the identification and nurturing of high-impact innovations with the potential for socio-economic transformation.
- Supervise the establishment and management of innovation hubs, incubators, and related support structures across the country.
- Monitor and evaluate the impact of innovation interventions and recommend improvements.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior officers within the department.
- Prepare and present reports, briefs, and policy recommendations to management and relevant stakeholders.
- Represent the Agency in inter-agency, regional, and international innovation forums.
SENIOR INNOVATION OFFICER, KENIA GRADE 6 – JG L (1 POST)
The Senior Innovation Officer will assist in coordinating and managing innovation projects, supporting innovators, and fostering collaboration across various sectors to ensure the effective implementation of innovation programs.
Job Description
- Support the development and implementation of innovation strategies, programs, and projects.
- Facilitate collaboration among innovators, researchers, and investors to strengthen innovation linkages.
- Participate in the evaluation and selection of innovation projects for funding or incubation.
- Conduct research on emerging innovation trends and provide recommendations for policy or programmatic adjustments.
- Prepare progress reports, project documentation, and briefs for management.
- Assist in organizing innovation events, exhibitions, and stakeholder workshops.

PRINCIPAL PARTNERSHIP AND RESOURCE MOBILIZATION OFFICER, KENIA GRADE 5 – JG N (1 POST)
The Principal Partnership and Resource Mobilization Officer will spearhead the Agency’s efforts in developing strategic partnerships and mobilizing financial and non-financial resources to support innovation initiatives and institutional sustainability.
Job Description
- Develop and implement a partnership and resource mobilization strategy aligned with KeNIA’s objectives.
- Identify potential funding partners, including development agencies, private sector entities, and philanthropic organizations.
- Coordinate the preparation of proposals and concept notes for donor funding and collaboration opportunities.
- Establish and maintain strategic relationships with partners to advance joint innovation programs.
- Negotiate partnership agreements, memoranda of understanding, and other collaborative frameworks.
- Monitor and evaluate partnership performance to ensure mutual benefit and accountability.
- Prepare periodic reports on partnership activities and resource mobilization efforts.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to officers within the partnerships and resource mobilization unit.

HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT OFFICER I, KENIA GRADE 7 – JG K (1 POST)
The Human Resource Management Officer I will provide support in the implementation of human resource policies, procedures, and systems to ensure efficient staff management and organizational performance.

- Implement human resource policies, guidelines, and programs.
- Maintain and update staff records, including leave, performance, and disciplinary documentation.
- Facilitate recruitment, selection, and placement processes.
- Coordinate staff induction, training, and capacity-building activities.

The ICT Officer II will be responsible for providing technical support in the management and maintenance of the Agency’s ICT infrastructure to ensure efficient service delivery.

- Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware, software, and network systems.
- Support users in resolving ICT-related issues and provide technical assistance.

The Corporate Communication Officer II will be responsible for implementing the Agency’s communication strategy and enhancing its corporate image through effective media and stakeholder engagement.

- Develop and disseminate communication materials, including press releases, newsletters, and publications.
- Maintain the Agency’s online presence through website updates and social media management.
- Coordinate media relations, press briefings, and coverage of Agency activities.

The Senior Office Administrator will provide high-level administrative support to ensure efficient operations and effective coordination within the Agency’s offices.

SENIOR DRIVER, KENIA GRADE 9 – CSG 11 (JG J) (1 POST)
The Senior Driver will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of staff and materials, as well as the general maintenance and care of assigned vehicles.
Job Description
- Drive Agency vehicles to transport staff, visitors, and goods as authorized.
- Ensure the safety and cleanliness of vehicles at all times.
- Conduct routine checks on vehicles to determine serviceability and report mechanical faults.
- Maintain accurate records of vehicle movements, mileage, and fuel consumption.
- Adhere to traffic laws, regulations, and internal transport policies.
- Ensure that assigned vehicles are serviced and maintained in accordance with the maintenance schedule.
- Assist in delivering official documents and materials as required.
- Report any incidents, accidents, or irregularities immediately to the supervisor.
- Support logistics and administrative functions related to transport services.
