About the Division
The Quality, Independence, Risk and Reputation (QIRR) and Office of the General Counsel (OGC) Department deals with any issues that potentially expose Deloitte to risk. The issues impacting the firm are varied and may include reputation, operational, litigation and regulatory risk.
Risk Management is about identifying and managing risks to the Firm, and it includes conducting checks necessary to ensure that the individual professionals act and make decisions that achieve the objectives of the firm, comply with professional and legal requirements and that they are ethical. The role of the QIRR & OGC team is not only to make sure there is an effective compliance framework in place, but also to raise awareness of the issues involved and encourage consultation whenever questions or concerns arise.
We have an exciting opportunity for a dynamic individual to join our Member Firm Internal Services Department – QIRR & OGC team as a Business Relationships – Risk Analyst (East & West Africa). This position will be based in our Nairobi office in Kenya.
Job Description
As a Business Relationships – Risk Analyst, you will be part of a support resource team responsible for delivering standardised services to internal business units, with a focus on processing and reviewing Business Relationship Management System (BRMS) cases. You will ensure all cases are completed accurately, efficiently, and in line with Deloitte’s policies and standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Process and review BRMS cases for firm and individual business relationships.
- Ensure all BRMS documentation is complete, accurate, and meets layout and quality standards.
- Validate and circulate BRMS cases, ensuring sufficient, relevant, and reliable information is included.
- Track all correspondence and ensure timely finalisation and notification of BRMS cases (within 2 to 7 days).
- Escalate cases as required and follow up on outstanding information to ensure timely resolution.
- Assist team members and provide support where additional training is needed.
- Monitor mailbox requests, assign emails appropriately, and ensure prompt responses.
- Communicate regularly with management regarding problem areas and keep them updated.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of how BRMS cases impact the firm’s products and services.
- Assist with general and ad-hoc tasks as delegated.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field.
- At least 2 years’ experience in a similar function/area.
- Basic understanding of risk and independence aspects in the audit environment.
- General understanding of “conflict of interest” from a business perspective.
- Experience in risk management or due diligence roles.
- Understanding of Deloitte Policy Manuals (e.g., 1430, 1420, 1560, 1800, 1920) and their application.
- Experience with business relationship checks across different business units/service lines.
Ability to handle complex cases with minimal supervision.
