Director, Finance and Planning

Job Purpose
The Director, Finance and Planning will be responsible for providing leadership in financial management, planning, budgeting, and resource mobilization to ensure the hospital’s sustainability and strategic growth. The position will oversee the development of sound financial strategies, policies, and frameworks that align with KUTRRH’s vision and mandate.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and review financial strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure sound fiscal management and accountability.
- Oversee preparation of annual budgets, forecasts, and financial performance reports for effective decision-making.
- Monitor and control budget implementation to ensure prudent utilization of resources and adherence to approved allocations.
- Provide leadership in the preparation of financial statements in compliance with applicable accounting standards and statutory requirements.
- Oversee revenue management, cost control, and financial reporting systems to support operational efficiency.
- Lead the hospital’s financial planning, investment, and resource mobilization initiatives to ensure financial sustainability.
- Ensure effective cash flow management and the maintenance of optimal liquidity levels to support ongoing operations.
- Develop and implement internal control systems to safeguard assets, prevent fraud, and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
- Liaise with auditors, regulators, and key stakeholders to ensure transparency, accountability, and compliance with governance standards.
- Coordinate the preparation of strategic and operational plans to align financial planning with institutional priorities.
- Oversee procurement planning and expenditure management to ensure value for money and compliance with public procurement laws.
- Support strategic decision-making through timely and accurate financial analysis, risk assessments, and projections.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to finance and planning teams to enhance capacity and promote professional growth.
- Implement performance management systems to enhance efficiency, accountability, and continuous improvement within the directorate.
Terms of Service
All the positions are offered on a five (5) year renewable contract, subject to satisfactory performance and institutional requirements.
