Credit Analyst – Asset Finance

To provide high-quality credit analysis and risk assessment for Asset Finance and IPF facilities across Retail, Business Banking, and Commercial customer segments. The role supports sound credit decision-making by delivering accurate financial analysis, risk identification, and well-structured credit recommendations that align with the Bank’s credit policy, risk appetite, and regulatory standards.

Principle Accountabilities
1.Credit Analysis and Appraisal
- Conduct detailed financial analysis and due diligence for Asset Finance applications across business segments.
- Evaluate applicants’ repayment capacity through analysis of financial statements, bank statements, and cash flow forecasts.
- Assess creditworthiness by reviewing client profiles, business models, and sector performance.
- Verify asset details, supplier quotations, insurance documents, and valuation reports for completeness and validity.
- Prepare comprehensive credit analysis reports and recommendations for approval or escalation to appropriate authority levels.
2. Risk Assessment and Structuring
- Identify key risks and propose appropriate mitigants in line with Bank policy and risk appetite.
- Support structuring of Asset Finance facilities to achieve a balance between profitability, risk, and customer requirements.
- Review and confirm that proposed securities and documentation adequately protect the Bank’s interests.
- Ensure credit proposals comply with product program parameters, pricing guidelines, and lending conditions.
3. Processing and Coordination
- Liaise with Relationship Managers, Credit Origination Officers, and Credit Administration teams to ensure seamless end-to-end processing of Asset Finance applications.
- Review credit submissions for completeness before approval or disbursement.
- Ensure timely communication of approval conditions and monitor fulfillment prior to drawdown.
4. Portfolio Monitoring and Performance
- Monitor the performance of approved Asset Finance accounts to identify early warning signals.
- Participate in portfolio reviews and trend analysis to highlight emerging credit risks or opportunities.
- Provide data and insights to support periodic risk and business performance reports.
5. Compliance and Governance
- Ensure all credit assessments comply with internal policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain high-quality credit documentation and accurate records for audit and compliance purposes.
- Adhere to ethical credit practices and maintain confidentiality of customer and institutional information.

Minimum Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or related field.
- Professional qualifications such as CPA, ACCA, CCP, or Credit Management Certification are an added advantage.
- Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience in credit analysis, risk management, or lending within a financial institution.
- Strong understanding of Asset Finance and Insurance Premium Financing (IPF) products, collateral valuation, and documentation processes.
- Familiarity with credit scoring models and financial analysis systems.
