The Social Health Authority (SHA) has officially released the list of shortlisted candidates following its major recruitment drive announced on 12th September 2025. This recruitment, conducted pursuant to Section 17 and Schedule I of the Social Health Insurance Act, Act No. 16 of 2023, sought to fill various vacancies within the Authority as it strengthens its operational and service delivery capacity.

The advertisement, which ran across leading local newspapers and the SHA website, attracted a significant number of applicants from across the country. By the closing date of 3rd October 2025, the Authority had received applications for the available positions, demonstrating strong public interest in supporting the implementation of the Social Health Insurance Act and contributing to Kenya’s ongoing health reforms.

Out of all the applications received, 481 candidates have been shortlisted for consideration against 212 advertised vacancies. This selection marks the beginning of the next crucial stage of the recruitment process, as the Authority prepares to conduct interviews running from 28th November 2025 to 8th December 2025.

Interview Venues and Reporting Requirements

The shortlisted candidates are required to attend their interviews at the designated venues, which include the Social Health Authority Headquarters, 9th Floor Boardroom, and the SHA Parking Complex on the 1st Floor. Each candidate has been assigned a specific date and time for their interview, and they are strongly advised to carefully refer to the published interview schedule.

To ensure a smooth process and proper verification of qualifications, all candidates must report to their respective venues at least thirty minutes before their scheduled interview time. The SHA emphasises punctuality and preparedness, noting that failure to present the required documents may lead to automatic disqualification.

Applicants must bring original copies of the following documents for verification:
– National Identity Card
– Academic and professional certificates and transcripts
– Valid clearances from the Higher Education Loans Board, Kenya Revenue Authority, a registered Credit Reference Bureau, the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (Police Clearance), and the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (self-declaration form or stamped acknowledgement)
– Recognition letters from the Commission for University Education for degrees obtained from foreign institutions
– Letters of good standing or recommendations from relevant professional bodies, where applicable
– Any additional supporting documents or testimonials that strengthen their application

These requirements align with the Authority’s commitment to transparency, credibility, and adherence to public service recruitment standards.

Opportunity for Public Participation

In keeping with the principles of accountability and integrity, the Social Health Authority has also opened a window for public participation regarding the suitability of the shortlisted individuals. Members of the public are invited to submit any adverse information relating to any of the candidates under consideration. This information must be submitted to the Chief Executive Officer, Social Health Authority, at the SHA Building, 10th Floor, Nairobi. All submissions must be received on or before 8th December 2025 by 5:00 PM. The Authority encourages the public to participate responsibly and provide factual, verifiable information to support a fair and transparent recruitment process.
