The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA), a State Corporation under the Ministry of Roads and Transport was established under the Kenya Roads Act, 2007 and charged with the mandate to manage, develop, rehabilitate, and maintain national trunk roads.


The Authority invites applications from suitably qualified persons to fill the following positions on Permanent and Pensionable terms of service

ENGINEER (ROADS), GRADE 7

Job Purpose
Provide technical input in road and highway design, construction, maintenance, and safety through preparation of designs, supervision of works, quality assurance, feasibility studies, and data collection to support sustainable and compliant road infrastructure in line with the Roads Act.


Job Description
(i) Developing preliminary designs and preparing working drawings for the construction, rehabilitation and maintenance of roads and highway structures;
(ii) Taking part in supervising roads and structures works;
(iii) Taking part undertaking quality assurance, technical, performance and road safety audits and assessments;
(iv) Preparing quantity take off sheets, cost estimates and tender documentation for roads and structures works;
(v) Taking part in implementation of road safety engineering programs and risk management activities;

HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT OFFICER II

Responsible for implementation of Human Resource strategies, standards, policies, procedures and guidelines on recruitment & selection, placement, retention, compensation and benefits, staff training and development, employee relations; and performance management as guided by the Human Resource Policies and Procedures Manuals, Labour laws and other relevant laws to ensure effective and efficient achievement of human resource objectives towards the realization of the Authority’s mandate.

Job Description
(i) Verifying staff biodata;
(ii) Issuing personal particulars forms and official secrets declaration forms to newly recruited staff;
(iii) Drafting routine and simple memos, letters, and reports;
(iv) Confirming information relating to recruitment and selection, appointments, training,
performance management, records, and staff complement control;
(v) Handling clerical tasks of analytical nature;
(vi) Computing of staff leave;

INFORMATION COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY (ICT) OFFICER II

Responsible for the development, formulation, implementation and review of ICT strategies, frameworks, policies, work plans, procedures and programmes and that the Authority Leverages Information Technology in the delivery of its services towards realization of its mandate.


Job Description
(i) Providing support in the integration and automation of KeNHA ICT systems;
(ii) Updating the performance of ICT systems;
(iii) Maintaining application systems and website;
(iv) Providing end user support on effective and efficient use of ICT facilities;
(v) Identifying and updating register;
(vi) Installing, configuring and monitoring Local Area Network components;

DRIVER III

Responsible for driving services and safe and timely movement of staff, authorized goods, and overseeing maintenance of assigned vehicles to support realization of the Authority’s mandate in compliance with the Traffic Act.


Job Description
(i) Driving the vehicle as authorized;
(ii) Ensuring security and safety of the vehicle, passengers, and goods on and off the road;
(iii) Maintaining daily work ticket;
(iv) Ensuring routine service and maintenance of the vehicle;
(v) Carrying out routine checks on vehicle’s cooling, oil, electrical, and brake systems and tyre pressure;
(vi) Detecting and reporting vehicle defects on time;
(vii) Ensuring vehicle cleanliness;
(viii) Timely reporting of accidents and follow up on police abstract; and
(ix) Vehicle inspection and keeping up-to-date insurance documents.

OFFICE ASSISTANT I

Responsible for providing general office support services, including office cleanliness, mail
delivery, and serving refreshments.
Job Description
(i) Ensuring cleanliness of offices, machines, equipment, and apparatus;

arrangement;
(x) Coordinating collecting, assembling, and disposing waste; and
(xi) Providing specifications for cleaning materials, equipment, and their safe custody
