Introduction
The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) is seeking a Freshwater & Urban Expert (Consultant) to provide technical assistance and on-the-job support for the implementation and coordination of the EC Sustainable Watershed Management Project in Brazil and India. This consultancy will play a critical role in strengthening collaboration across UNEP divisions, particularly in advancing integrated approaches to urban resilience and water ecosystem management.
Duties and Responsibilities
Freshwater & Urban Expert (Consultant)
The consultant will be responsible for the following key duties:
- Provide technical assistance and implementation support for the EC Sustainable Watershed Management Project in Brazil and India.
- Support coordination activities related to project planning, execution, and monitoring across multiple country contexts.
- Facilitate collaboration between the Freshwater and Ecosystems Unit and the Climate Change Division to ensure coherent and aligned project delivery.
- Contribute to joint initiatives that integrate urban resilience strategies with freshwater and water ecosystem management.
- Provide analytical and technical inputs to support policy-relevant project outputs and implementation tools.
- Support stakeholder engagement and coordination efforts across regional and international partners as required.
- Contribute to reporting, documentation, and knowledge-sharing activities related to project implementation.
Expected Duration
