Duties and Responsibilities

Although the detailed sections are collapsed, the role typically involves the following responsibilities:

Digital Marketing

  • Plan, implement, and manage paid digital marketing campaigns across platforms such as Google, Meta, LinkedIn, and other relevant channels.
  • Optimize digital campaigns to improve reach, engagement, and conversion rates.
  • Manage digital advertising budgets and monitor return on investment.

Communications and Content

  • Support UNEP communication campaigns through effective digital storytelling.
  • Coordinate and publish content across websites, email newsletters, and social media platforms.
  • Ensure all digital content aligns with UNEP branding, editorial guidelines, and communication standards.

Monitoring, Analytics, and Reporting

  • Track and analyze performance using digital analytics tools such as Google Analytics and social media insights.
  • Prepare performance reports highlighting reach, engagement, impact, and key lessons learned.

Coordination and Collaboration

  • Work closely with programme teams, designers, and external service providers.
  • Support global, regional, and thematic campaigns linked to UNEP priority initiatives.

Qualifications and Special Skills

  • University degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Digital Media, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in digital marketing, online campaigns, and content management.
  • Demonstrated experience in paid digital advertising and performance marketing.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and produce actionable insights.
  • Excellent digital copywriting and editing skills.
  • Experience working with international organizations, UN agencies, or NGOs is an added advantage.

Languages

  • Fluency in English is required.
  • Knowledge of another official United Nations language is desirable.

Additional Information

  • This is a consultancy position with a defined duration.
  • The assignment is based in Nairobi, Kenya.
