The position involves oversight of helicopter operators, maintenance organizations, and continued airworthiness activities to ensure safety and compliance across the aviation system.
Duties and responsibilities include:
- Conducting inspections and audits of helicopter operators, maintenance organizations, and approved facilities to ensure compliance with national and international airworthiness regulations
- Reviewing and evaluating aircraft maintenance programs, maintenance records, and technical documentation related to helicopters
- Assessing compliance with airworthiness directives, service bulletins, and mandatory safety requirements applicable to rotary-wing aircraft
- Participating in the certification, approval, and continued surveillance of helicopter maintenance organizations and operations
