Position: Waitstaff
Job Summary
The Waitstaff role is responsible for delivering excellent food and beverage service to customers in a clean, safe, and welcoming environment. The position focuses on ensuring guests receive prompt, courteous, and professional service in line with Java House service standards.
Primary Purpose of the Role
To take and serve food and beverage orders accurately and efficiently, ensure guests are well attended to at all times, and maintain cleanliness and service quality within assigned service areas.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Present menu options to guests and lead suggestive selling based on customer preferences
• Assist guests in navigating the menu comfortably
• Take food and beverage orders accurately and deliver them according to ticket specifications
• Serve orders neatly and in a timely manner
• Present bills promptly and process payments accurately
• Return correct change to guests within the shortest time possible
• Attend to tables continuously to ensure guest satisfaction
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of tables and condiments
• Assist with station setup and breakdown as required

• Meet, greet, seat, and attend to guests promptly
• Ensure timely and accurate food and beverage service
• Assist guests with menu navigation and product knowledge
Cleanliness and Quality Control
• Clean, clear, and organize tables and service stations
• Ensure compliance with cleanliness and hygiene standards
• Check the quality of final food and beverage servings
• Resolve service or quality issues in line with recommended standards
Operational Efficiency
• Ensure proper utilization of company resources
• Participate in accurate stock-taking procedures
• Communicate necessary mise-en-place requirements to the manager
• Attend shift briefings and communicate professionally with guests

Special Conditions of Employment
• Sound menu and product knowledge
• KCSE certificate with a minimum mean grade of C plain
• At least six months of experience within the company or equivalent experience from a food and beverage establishment
