As part of its continued operations in Kenya, MSF is recruiting for the following positions:

Customer Service Intern
Transport & Customs Intern (Multiple Positions)

Midwife

Position 1: Customer Service Intern
Duty Station: Kenya

Role Overview

The Customer Service Intern will support the administrative and operational functions of MSF’s logistics and supply chain or support departments by providing frontline service coordination, documentation support, and communication assistance. This role is designed to provide structured exposure to humanitarian operational systems while contributing to efficient internal and external stakeholder engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Frontline Support and Communication
    The Customer Service Intern will assist in receiving and directing inquiries from internal departments, field teams, suppliers, and service providers. This includes handling telephone calls, emails, and in-person inquiries in a professional and timely manner.

The intern will maintain a service-oriented approach, ensuring that requests are accurately recorded, categorized, and forwarded to the appropriate department for action.

  1. Documentation and Records Management
    The role involves supporting the preparation, filing, and archiving of administrative documentation, including service requests, delivery notes, and internal correspondence.

The intern will ensure that records are organized in compliance with MSF’s documentation protocols and that digital and physical files are maintained accurately.

  1. Data Entry and Reporting
    The Customer Service Intern will assist in data entry into internal systems, updating tracking sheets, and supporting basic reporting on service requests and response times.

The role requires attention to detail to ensure data accuracy and consistency across operational platforms.

  1. Coordination Support
    The intern will support coordination between departments such as logistics, procurement, finance, and medical teams to ensure smooth follow-up of pending actions.

This includes assisting with meeting scheduling, minute-taking when required, and following up on assigned administrative tasks.

    The intern will adhere to MSF’s code of conduct, confidentiality requirements, and humanitarian principles, maintaining professional integrity in all interactions.

Position 2: Transport & Customs Intern
Duty Station: Kenya
Number of Positions: Multiple

Role Overview

The Transport & Customs Intern will support the logistics department in coordinating transportation activities and customs clearance processes. This role provides structured exposure to humanitarian supply chain operations, including importation procedures, regulatory compliance, and fleet coordination.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Transport Coordination Support
    The intern will assist in planning and monitoring transport activities, including vehicle dispatch schedules, cargo tracking, and delivery confirmations.

Support will be provided in updating transport logs, trip sheets, and fuel consumption records as guided by the transport supervisor.

  1. Customs Documentation Assistance
    The role involves supporting the preparation and compilation of customs clearance documentation for imported goods, ensuring that documentation is complete and aligned with national regulations.

The intern will assist in liaising with clearing agents and relevant authorities under supervision to facilitate timely processing of shipments.

  1. Shipment Tracking
    The intern will help track incoming and outgoing consignments, updating internal tracking tools and informing relevant departments about shipment status.
  2. Regulatory Compliance Support
    The role includes assisting in verifying that all transport and customs-related documentation meets Kenyan regulatory requirements and MSF internal compliance standards.
  3. Administrative Support
    The intern will support filing, scanning, and archiving of logistics and customs documentation and assist in preparing periodic summaries as requested.

Position 3: Warehouse Referent
Duty Station: Kenya

Role Overview

The Warehouse Referent is responsible for overseeing warehouse operations to ensure the secure, accurate, and efficient storage and distribution of medical and non-medical supplies. The role plays a critical function in maintaining supply chain continuity for MSF’s healthcare programmes.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Warehouse Operations Management
    The Warehouse Referent will supervise warehouse activities, including receiving, inspecting, storing, and dispatching goods.

The role ensures that stock is handled in accordance with MSF standards and that appropriate storage conditions are maintained, particularly for medical supplies requiring specific environmental controls.

  1. Inventory Control and Stock Management
    The incumbent will oversee inventory management processes, including stock counts, reconciliations, and monitoring of minimum and maximum stock levels.

Regular stock reporting will be conducted to inform procurement planning and prevent stockouts or overstocking.

  1. Quality Assurance and Compliance
    The Warehouse Referent will ensure that all goods received meet required specifications and that damaged or expired items are appropriately segregated and documented.

The role requires strict adherence to MSF logistics guidelines, safety standards, and traceability protocols.

  1. Team Supervision
    The position includes supervision of warehouse assistants and support staff, ensuring clear task allocation, performance monitoring, and capacity strengthening where necessary.
  2. Coordination with Logistics and Medical Teams
    The Warehouse Referent will coordinate closely with procurement, transport, and medical departments to ensure timely dispatch of supplies to field locations and healthcare facilities.

Position 4: Midwife
Duty Station: Kenya

Role Overview

The Midwife will provide comprehensive maternal and newborn healthcare services within MSF-supported facilities. The role contributes directly to reducing maternal and neonatal morbidity and mortality through evidence-based clinical practice.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Antenatal and Postnatal Care
    The Midwife will provide routine antenatal consultations, monitor high-risk pregnancies, and offer postnatal care to mothers and newborns.

The role includes conducting clinical assessments, administering treatments, and providing counseling on maternal and newborn health.

  1. Labor and Delivery Management
    The Midwife will manage normal deliveries, identify complications early, and initiate timely referrals or interventions in line with MSF clinical protocols.

Emergency obstetric care support will be provided where required, in collaboration with the medical team.

  1. Newborn Care
    The role includes immediate newborn assessment, resuscitation when necessary, and monitoring of neonatal health.
  2. Health Education and Counseling
    The Midwife will provide patient education on family planning, breastfeeding, hygiene, and danger signs requiring medical attention.
  3. Clinical Documentation and Reporting
    Accurate medical documentation will be maintained in patient files and reporting tools in compliance with MSF medical standards.
  4. Adherence to Clinical Protocols
    The Midwife will follow MSF clinical guidelines and infection prevention and control procedures, ensuring safe and high-quality care.
