The County Government of Kakamega, through the County Public Service Board (CPSB), has declared external vacancies within the Department of Public Service and County Administration. Department of Public Service & County Administration

  1. Position: Fire Officer II

The position of Fire Officer II is the entry and training grade within the professional fire engineering cadre. A Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following disciplines: Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.

Be registered by the Engineers Registration Board of Kenya as a Graduate Engineer.

A Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or equivalent and relevant qualification from a recognized institution.

A First Aid Certificate course lasting not less than one (1) week from St. John’s Ambulance or Kenya Institute of Highways and Building Technology (KIHBT) or any other recognized institution.

An officer appointed to this grade will undertake the following duties:

Simple maintenance of fire-fighting appliances

Requirement for Appointment

For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:

Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) mean Grade ‘D’ or its equivalent and relevant qualification.

Fireman II Certificate from a recognized Fire Services Training School/Institution.

First Aid Certificate course lasting not less than one (1) week from St. John’s Ambulance or Kenya Institute of Highways and Building Technology (KIHBT) or any other recognized institution.

Be physically fit.

Be certified medically fit by a Government doctor.
