Job Description
The Intern – Political Affairs will support the office’s analytical, coordination, and reporting functions related to political developments in the Great Lakes Region. The intern will work closely with political affairs officers and other team members to assist with research, monitoring, and documentation of regional issues.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting research and analysis on political, security, and regional cooperation developments within the Great Lakes Region.
- Assisting in the preparation of briefing notes, background papers, reports, and summaries for senior officials.
- Monitoring media, policy developments, and regional events relevant to the office’s mandate.
- Supporting the organization of meetings, consultations, and regional dialogue initiatives.
- Contributing to the drafting of internal reports, meeting minutes, and documentation.
- Assisting with data collection and maintaining records related to political developments and initiatives.
- Supporting communication and coordination between the office and relevant partners or stakeholders when required.
