Position Overview
The Assistant Secretary role is positioned within the corporate governance function of KTDA and plays a critical role in supporting board operations, statutory compliance, and organizational governance processes. Reporting to the Assistant Secretary (Supervisory), the position is responsible for delivering professional company secretarial services and facilitating the effective execution of board and management meetings.
The role is central to ensuring that governance structures operate efficiently, regulatory obligations are met, and corporate documentation is accurately maintained and disseminated.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
The Assistant Secretary will be responsible for a broad range of governance and administrative functions, including but not limited to:
- Attending and providing secretarial support during Board of Directors meetings, Annual General Meetings (AGMs), Special Meetings, and other management-level engagements within the KTDA Group and its associated entities.
- Coordinating the preparation, structuring, and issuance of statutory notices and meeting agendas to ensure compliance with corporate governance requirements and timelines.
- Recording, compiling, and ensuring the timely preparation and distribution of accurate minutes for all board and management meetings, maintaining a clear audit trail of deliberations and decisions.
- Maintaining company statutory records and ensuring that all corporate record books are kept in proper order, updated regularly, and safeguarded in accordance with regulatory standards.
- Supporting electoral processes for factory boards and affiliated KTDA entities, including coordination with internal departments to facilitate transparent and compliant elections.
- Supervising the vetting and validation of power of attorney documentation during director elections to ensure authenticity and compliance with legal frameworks.
- Participating in the planning, coordination, and execution of director training programs across KTDA-managed tea factory companies, enhancing governance capacity and board effectiveness.
- Assisting in the compilation, verification, publication, and distribution of annual reports and financial statements to shareholders, ensuring alignment with reporting standards and deadlines.

The Forester role is a technical and operational position within KTDA’s sustainability and resource management function. Reporting to the Wood Fuel and Development Manager, the position is responsible for overseeing wood fuel projects, ensuring sustainable forestry practices, and supporting the development and management of forest resources across KTDA factories.
The role contributes significantly to KTDA’s environmental sustainability objectives by ensuring that forestry initiatives are economically viable, environmentally compliant, and aligned with long-term resource planning strategies.

The Forester will undertake a wide range of responsibilities focused on forestry management, project oversight, and technical support, including:
- Supervising the implementation and management of wood fuel projects across KTDA factories, ensuring adherence to approved plans and sustainability guidelines.
- Developing and implementing monitoring and evaluation frameworks for forest resources and factory tree farms to track performance, growth patterns, and resource utilization.
- Coordinating feasibility studies and economic analyses for proposed forestry and wood fuel projects to assess viability and inform investment decisions.
- Participating in the review and enhancement of land acquisition and procurement procedures for forestry projects to ensure compliance with legal and environmental standards.

Position Overview
The Head of Credit role is a senior leadership position within Greenland Fedha Plc, a KTDA subsidiary. Reporting directly to the General Manager, the role is responsible for the strategic direction, governance, and performance of the organization’s entire credit function.
The position plays a pivotal role in ensuring effective credit risk management, maintaining portfolio quality, and aligning lending operations with business growth objectives while adhering to regulatory requirements.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
The Head of Credit will oversee the full credit lifecycle and provide strategic leadership across all credit-related operations, including:
- Formulating, implementing, and continuously reviewing the organization’s credit policies to ensure alignment with business objectives and regulatory frameworks, including Central Bank of Kenya guidelines.
- Developing and executing comprehensive credit strategies that support sustainable portfolio growth while maintaining acceptable risk levels.
- Leading credit forecasting processes and monitoring credit performance metrics to inform strategic decision-making and operational planning.
- Designing and implementing robust credit risk assessment methodologies, including credit scoring models, vetting procedures, and risk evaluation frameworks.
- Ensuring effective internal controls and risk management systems are in place to mitigate credit exposure and safeguard the organization’s financial position.
- Overseeing compliance with all internal credit policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements governing lending activities.
