The African Population and Health Research Center (APHRC) is a premier research-to- policy institution, generating evidence, strengthening research and related capacity in the African research and development ecosystem, and engaging policy to inform action on health and development. APHRC seeks to recruit qualified Qualitative and Quantitative Field Interviewers to support data collection for its Teach for Kenya Evaluation Project. This study aims to evaluate the implementation and effectiveness of TFK’s leadership-centered fellowship model in improving teacher effectiveness, learner outcomes, and community engagement in underserved communities in Nairobi City, Machakos and Kisumu Counties. Data collection is scheduled to take place in April and May. Only applicants residing in Nairobi City, Machakos and Kisumu Counties should apply.
Qualitative Interviewers
Duties and Responsibilities
- Consenting to the study respondents before the interviews and group discussions.
- Conducting interviews, focus groups, and participant observations.
- Note-taking/ fieldnotes and writing debriefing reports for all the interviews
- Ensure data quality and confidentiality.
- Ensuring the safety of data collection tools and equipment assigned.
- Any other related activity assigned by the project
Minimum requirements
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in early childhood education.
- Have proven experience and skills in qualitative research.
- Ability to facilitate interviews and group discussions in English and Swahili.
- Be a current resident of the target counties.
- Must be fully available for training and during the entire data collection period.
- Experience working in a school setting.
