Postdoctoral Research Fellowship
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop Independent Development Plans (IDPs) within the first three months, outlining a professional career trajectory and pathway to becoming an independent scientist.
- Complete three adjunct courses, including One Health Ethics, Implementation Science, and Applied Leadership Skills.
- Foster mentored research activities and promote South-South cooperation in research training priorities by engaging in high-impact cross-border research partnerships.
- Establish partnerships with other NIH-funded projects and leverage collaborations with foundation-funded projects.
- Participate in global scientific platforms such as the American Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene (ASTMH), the Consortium of Universities in Global Health (CUGH), the World One Health Congress, and the Africa CDC annual conferences and workshops.
- Familiarize yourself with the research activities in the laboratories of the respective co-mentoring principal investigators (PIs) and initiate your mentored research.
- Attend monthly seminars and quarterly joint meetings to track progress and provide regular updates.
- Develop a competitive research grant proposal starting from the beginning of your fellowship period and secure both intramural and extramural funding to establish your independent research career.
