| Job Specification | a) Job SpecificationDuties and responsibilities will entail:i. Provides strategic direction in carrying out the business of the company by providing leadership while fostering a culture that enhances corporate image, promotes ethical practices and good governance.ii. Responsible for implementation of the Board’s resolutions in a result oriented and timely manner to achieve the company’s strategic goals and objectives, while ensuring that all Board papers are accurately written, are relevant and are availed to the Board members in good time. Be the link between the Board and Management.iii. Spearheads the exploration of geothermal resources, infrastructural development, and drilling of geothermal wells.iv. Drives development of steam fields, and prudent management of geothermal resources.v. Promotes innovation, utilization and commercialization of Geothermal Direct Use projects and products.vi. Oversees effective management of Human Resources for optimal productivity through policies and strategies that attract and retain qualified and competent staff as per approved establishment.vii. Provide an advisory role to the Cabinet Secretary and Principal Secretary on the country’s energy mix and sector policy development.viii. Provide regular and prompt communication to the Board on key technical, financial, and administrative matters.ix. Develop and recommend to the Board the annual business plans for the Company. b) Person SpecificationsFor appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:i. At least fifteen (15) years’ work experience, ten (10) of which should have been in a relevant management role.ii. Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University.iii. Master’s Degree from a recognized University.iv. Leadership course lasting not less than four (4) weeks (cumulative) from a recognized institution.v. Professional qualification and membership of a professional body (where applicable).vi. Proficiency in computer applications.vii. Fulfilled the requirements of Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution of Kenya 2010. c) Key Competencies and Skillsi. Strong strategic thinking skills.ii. Strong analytical skills.iii. Strong communication and reporting skills.iv. Strong mentoring and coaching skills.v. Ability to lead and work with teams.vi. Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills.vii.
