Job Purpose
The Laboratory Technician Pharmacy will be responsible for supporting laboratory-based teaching, research, and practical activities. The role involves preparing laboratory equipment and materials, maintaining laboratory records, ensuring compliance with safety procedures, supporting students and academic staff, and managing laboratory equipment and resources.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
The Laboratory Technician Pharmacy will undertake a wide range of technical and administrative duties within the laboratory environment, including:
Laboratory Management and Coordination
- Coordinating work within the laboratory to ensure efficient utilization of laboratory resources and equipment.
- Liaising with academic staff to discuss laboratory timetables, equipment requirements, and work plans for practical sessions.
- Supporting the smooth operation of laboratory activities and ensuring that practical sessions are adequately prepared.
- Ensuring that laboratory facilities are organized and ready for teaching and research activities.
Equipment Preparation and Maintenance
- Preparing laboratory equipment, apparatus, chemicals, and materials before practical lessons and laboratory sessions.

- Carrying out repairs and routine maintenance of laboratory equipment and apparatus where necessary.
- Ensuring that laboratory equipment is properly cleaned after use.

Health and Safety Compliance
- Ensuring that all laboratory health and safety procedures are understood and correctly followed by staff and students.

Academic Requirements
Applicants must possess:
- Diploma in Pharmacy from an accredited institution; or
- Diploma in Laboratory Sciences from an accredited institution.
- KCSE Certificate or its equivalent qualification.
Experience Requirements

- Previous work experience in a university laboratory or scientific laboratory environment.
