Job Summary
The Graphic Design Assistant will support the creation and production of visual assets across various platforms. Working closely with the Head of Graphic Design, you will assist in executing creative design concepts and ensuring all projects align with SIB’s brand guidelines, timelines, and quality standards.
This role requires a creative thinker who is detail-oriented, proactive, and passionate about design and visual storytelling.
Key Responsibilities
1. Visual Design Creation
- Assist in designing graphics, illustrations, layouts, and digital content for both print and digital media.
- Support the Head of Graphic Design in developing creative design concepts and strategies.
- Help prepare and format design files for production and digital distribution.
2. Brand Consistency and Quality Assurance
- Maintain consistency in design work by adhering to established brand guidelines.
- Ensure high-quality standards in all visual outputs across various platforms.
3. File Management and Organization
- Organize and maintain design assets, files, and templates for efficient team access.
- Keep project files structured and up-to-date to facilitate seamless collaboration.
4. Photo Editing and Manipulation
- Edit, retouch, and manipulate photos as needed to meet project requirements.
5. Collaboration and Communication
- Work closely with other team members, including marketing and communications, to ensure design materials align with overall project goals.
- Attend team meetings and provide updates on project progress.
6. Administrative Support
- Track project timelines and deliverables to ensure deadlines are met.
- Assist in organizing meetings and preparing presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
7. Innovation and Trends
- Stay updated on the latest design trends, tools, and technologies.
- Propose and incorporate fresh ideas into projects to keep designs modern and engaging.
Required Qualifications
- A degree or relevant certification in Graphic Design, Visual Arts, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and other design tools such as Sketch or Figma.
- Strong understanding of design principles, including typography, color theory, and layout.
- Excellent attention to detail with a focus on maintaining consistency.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proven ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines.
- A portfolio showcasing your design skills and relevant work experience (please include a link or attachment).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with motion graphics and video editing software (e.g., After Effects, Premiere Pro).
- Basic knowledge of web design and HTML/CSS.
- Familiarity with 3D design and animation tools.
