Job Purpose

The Retail Health Sales Executive will focus on driving the growth of Britam’s medical insurance business by acquiring new clients, retaining existing ones, and meeting set premium targets. This role also involves ensuring excellent customer service and compliance with underwriting standards.


Key Responsibilities

1. Business Development

  • Secure new medical insurance business directly or through intermediaries across all business channels.
  • Identify opportunities for growth and develop strategies to expand the retail health portfolio.

2. Client Relationship Management

  • Provide excellent customer service to intermediaries and clients, addressing inquiries promptly and professionally.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients to foster loyalty and retention.

3. Policy Renewals and Retention

  • Follow up on renewals for medical insurance policies to ensure continuous coverage for clients.
  • Proactively engage with clients to address their needs and provide tailored solutions.

4. Operational Support

  • Forward completed proposal forms and KYC documents to the underwriting department for processing.
  • Undertake initial underwriting in accordance with guidelines to ensure sound risk acceptance.
  • Ensure timely premium collections as per the company’s credit control policy.

5. Reporting and Documentation

  • Prepare and submit weekly reports on performance, new business acquisitions, and renewals to the Business Development Manager (BDM) – Retail Health.

6. Additional Responsibilities

  • Respond promptly to customer and client inquiries, providing accurate and helpful information.
  • Perform any other duties as may be assigned by management from time to time.

Delegated Authority

The Retail Health Sales Executive will operate within the approved Delegated Authority Matrix, ensuring compliance with company policies and standards.


Knowledge, Experience, and Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Business, or a related field.

Professional Certification

  • Professional qualification in Insurance (ACII, IIK).

Experience

  • 2-4 years of relevant experience in the insurance industry, with a focus on medical insurance.

Skills and Competencies

  • Strong understanding of medical insurance products and industry practices.
  • Excellent customer service and relationship management skills.
  • Effective communication and presentation abilities.
  • Analytical thinking with attention to detail and a focus on data-driven decision-making.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
