Murang’a County Government is pleased to announce the 2025 Internship Program, a unique opportunity for recent college graduates to gain practical experience, develop critical workplace skills, and enhance their professional networks. The program aims to equip young adults with hands-on knowledge to improve their chances of employment, entrepreneurship, and career success.
We are seeking competent and qualified individuals to join our dynamic team in the following internship positions:
Available Internship Positions
1. General Interns – 11 Positions
Job Description:
- Assist in various administrative and operational tasks within county departments.
- Support in organizing and managing files, records, and documentation.
- Provide logistical support for meetings, events, and county projects.
- Engage with teams to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
2. Communication & Media Interns – 3 Positions
Job Description:
- Support the creation and dissemination of county news and updates.
- Assist in managing social media platforms and website content.
- Capture and edit photos, videos, and other media content.
- Provide logistical support during press conferences and public events.
3. Youth Polytechnic Instructors Interns – 7 Positions
Job Description:
- Assist in delivering practical and theoretical lessons in youth polytechnics.
- Mentor and guide students in developing vocational skills.
- Participate in planning and executing training programs.
- Collaborate with instructors to ensure effective learning outcomes.
4. ECDE Caregivers Interns – 10 Positions
Job Description:
- Assist in teaching and caregiving for Early Childhood Development Education (ECDE) learners.
- Support the preparation of lesson plans and teaching materials.
- Ensure the safety and wellbeing of children during school hours.
- Engage in parent-teacher communications and child progress assessments.
5. Medical Laboratory Technologist Interns – 10 Positions
Job Description:
- Support laboratory tests and procedures in county health facilities.
- Assist in the preparation and analysis of specimens.
- Ensure cleanliness and maintenance of laboratory equipment.
- Work closely with healthcare teams to ensure accurate test results.
6. ICT Interns – 3 Positions
Job Description:
- Assist in maintaining and troubleshooting county ICT systems.
- Support in software and hardware installations.
- Participate in data entry, management, and cybersecurity tasks.
- Provide technical support to staff across departments.
7. Supply Chain Management Intern – 1 Position
Job Description:
- Assist in procurement and supply chain activities.
- Participate in stock control, inventory management, and reporting.
- Support the preparation of tender documents and vendor contracts.
- Collaborate with teams to ensure compliance with procurement regulations.
8. Automotive Engineering Intern – 1 Position
Job Description:
- Assist in the repair, maintenance, and servicing of county vehicles and machinery.
- Support in diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical issues.
- Participate in routine inspections and preventive maintenance.
- Maintain accurate records of vehicle and equipment performance.
Terms of Service
- This is a 12-month non-renewable internship program.
- Successful candidates will receive hands-on training and exposure in their respective fields but are not guaranteed employment upon completion of the program.
- Applicants must ensure their submissions are complete and meet the eligibility criteria.
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants must be Kenyan citizens not exceeding 45 years of age.
- Must have graduated with a degree in a relevant field within the last 24 months.
- Must not have previously participated in a similar internship program.
- Must not have any prior formal employment experience related to their area of study.
- Applications must be supported by official academic records and certificates from a recognized institution.
