KCDF is currently hiring for the following positions:


1. HR & ADMIN INTERN

Position Summary: The HR & Admin Intern will play a key role in supporting the Human Resources and Administration department, handling front office support and clerical duties. This internship provides hands-on experience in HR management within the development sector, helping the intern develop essential skills while contributing to KCDF’s mission.

2. Programmes Officer – Capacity and Systems Strengthening

Position Summary: The Programmes Officer will be responsible for capacity-building initiatives targeting diverse Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) in Kenya. The role specializes in Organizational Development and Capacity Strengthening, focusing on training, program management, stakeholder engagement, and strategic planning.

Key Responsibilities

1. General Program Administration

  • Support KCDF’s organization-wide Capacity and Systems Strengthening interventions targeting PBOs/NGOs, CBOs, Societies, and Social Enterprises.
  • Coordinate and implement capacity development programs to enhance financial resilience and organizational strength for CSOs.
  • Identify and select partners for skill enhancement using blended learning methods, including online training, face-to-face workshops, coaching, mentorship, and exchange visits.
  • Assist in developing capacity-building materials, focusing on organizational development, financial resilience, and systems strengthening.
  • Support the development of an online platform/portal in collaboration with domain experts to host relevant training content.
  • Facilitate workshops, training sessions, and mentorship programs for CSO staff and leaders.
  • Engage with stakeholders at various levels through interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Develop and implement strategies, objectives, and plans that align with KCDF’s organizational goals.

2. Research, Advocacy, and Resource Mobilization

  • Participate in research and advocacy initiatives to strengthen organizational programs.
  • Work with the Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) team to develop feedback mechanisms and generate progress and impact reports.
  • Support the drafting of proposals, learning modules, Terms of Reference (TOR), and policy papers.
  • Design, implement, and monitor programs by developing work plans, budgets, and activity schedules.
  • Coordinate communication between partners, ensuring collaboration and resource-sharing among CSOs.
  • Organize and conduct training, workshops, and peer-learning forums to enhance the capacity of partner organizations.
  • Identify and secure resources for the Civil Society Strengthening portfolio, working closely with the KCDF management team.
  • Represent KCDF at national and regional forums, advocating for community development priorities.
  • Strengthen KCDF’s visibility in Kenya and East Africa through networking, stakeholder engagement, and advocacy efforts.

Other Duties

  • Undertake additional responsibilities assigned by the supervisor in line with the organization’s mission and strategy.
