We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven professional to join our team as Head of Training/Principal at Avenue Annex – Muthithi. This is a permanent position, offering a unique opportunity to shape the future of healthcare education.
Purpose Statement
To oversee the sustainable growth and delivery of high-quality education at Avenue Healthcare College, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and fostering an excellent learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
Licensure & Accreditation
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements to maintain college licensure and accreditation.
- Foster strong relations with regulatory bodies.
- Facilitate the accreditation of new courses to expand the college’s offerings.
- Implement and enforce all college policies.
- Monitor and evaluate enterprise risk, implementing mitigation measures where necessary.
Quality & Standards
- Oversee curriculum and syllabus control, ensuring alignment with accrediting bodies and Avenue Healthcare College standards.
- Review and evaluate course offerings and curricula to maintain relevance in a dynamic healthcare environment.
- Maintain a rigorous internal student evaluation and examination control process.
- Assess the effectiveness of teaching methods and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Ensure the preparation and adherence to national exam standards.
- Oversee, monitor, and evaluate an effective clinical practicum program for students.
Growth & Sustainability
- Drive the college’s growth through increased course offerings and student enrollment.
- Optimize college capacity utilization through efficient class scheduling.
- Maintain strong relations with partner healthcare organizations for student clinical training.
- Ensure that the college has the necessary equipment and training aids, keeping them in optimal working condition.
- Support college branding, marketing, and business development initiatives.
- Oversee revenue cycle management and credit risk control.
- Optimize operating resources for long-term business sustainability.
People & College Experience
- Recruit and retain qualified, skilled, and experienced teaching staff.
- Implement a robust staff performance management system.
- Ensure a rewarding and satisfying learning experience for all students.
- Create a high-performance culture across all college campuses.
- Foster a safe and constructive feedback culture between students and staff.
- Promote student engagement and satisfaction through proactive initiatives.
- Handle any additional responsibilities as assigned by management.
Person Specification
- Educational Background: A Diploma in Nursing or any Allied Healthcare Field. A degree in Administration or Management will be an added advantage.
- Licensure: A valid Nursing Council of Kenya license or membership in a relevant Allied Healthcare Regulatory Body.
- Certifications: Updated Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)/Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) certification.
- Trainer Certification: Certification as a trainer for emergency courses (American Heart Association or European Resuscitation Council preferred).
- Experience: Minimum of 4 years of experience in multi-campus college management.
- Skills:

- Excellent communication skills.
- Strategic and commercial acumen to drive business sustainability.
