Job Purpose:

The Job holder is responsible for providing support to the Manager Bancassurance in execution of all aspects of the Bancassurance Business, business growth, revenue growth and management of stakeholder relationships.

Job Responsibilities:

Vigilance on compliance to the Bank’s policies and procedures regarding Bancassurance services.

  • Pursuing new business acquisition plans through existing and new business channels and intermediaries. (SME, Corporate, Retail New to Bank)
  • Close monitoring, review and negotiations for all accounts due for renewal at 95%
  • Supervision and motivation of Bancassurance Regional Specialist in the various Regions including Central Region BSOs
  • Appraising the performance of the Bancassurance Specialist on a periodic basis and in line with the set performance standards and timelines
  • Conduct training for both Life and General businesses in branches and upcountry regions.
  • Gather marketing intelligence statistics including competition, new products, and execution of competitive tactics to facilitate development of strategies to give the Bank a competitive advantage.
  • Prepare weekly pipeline reports on production of the Bancassurance team.
  • Maintaining a regular and accurate updated database of all prospective and closed business and submitting a monthly report to Bancassurance Manager
  • To execute daily Bancassurance Operations which entails response to emails, ensuring timely quotation submission, claims administration and documentation
  • Review relevant information for advising the Manager Bancassurance on strategy execution and monitor progress on implementation
  • To constantly ensure the fulfillment of the legal, statutory and regulatory requirements of the Bank of Uganda and Insurance Regulatory Authority and other related bodies
  • Act as a BCP to Manager Bancassurance

Job Specifications and Required Skills:

  • A bachelor’s degree from a recognized University.
  • Diploma in insurance OR certificate of Proficiency
  • Relevant Sales, Marketing, General insurance and life Assurance related knowledge and at least 3 years’ experience.
  • Excellent relationship management skills.
  • Good analytical and interpretation skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Good computer knowledge
  • Customer focus
