With a prime location on Gigiri’s Limuru Road, fairly close to Nairobi’s city centre and Village Market, it will attract UN and NGO delegates, consultants and contractors, as well as diplomats, leisure visitors and the local community.
Job Description
- Providing professional, friendly, and engaging service.
- Painting interior and exterior areas of the hotel using brushes, rollers, spray guns, or other applicators.
- Preparing surfaces for painting by washing, scraping, sanding, or sandblasting.
- Cutting in freehand or with tape, spot priming, and rolling walls.
- Caulking, filling, sanding trim; patching drywall; and rolling walls and trim.
- Mixing and matching paints, enamels, lacquers, stains, and special protective coatings.
- Identifying and repairing deficiencies in drywall, millwork, appliances, fixtures, flooring, and windows.
- Assisting with preventative maintenance tasks and repairs.
- Maintaining an organized inventory of painting materials and supplies.
- Prioritizing tasks and working efficiently.
- Supporting Health & Safety standards and environmental sustainability programs.
- Collaborating with the Chief Engineer and team on projects and renovations.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role we ask that you have:
- Trade certificate or minimum of 2-3 years of professional painting experience, including wallpapering, drywall patching, and repairs
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills.
- A high level of responsibility, reliability, and self-motivation.
- The ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to maintain a positive attitude in challenging situations.
- Physical fitness and the ability to work in various conditions while maintaining a professional appearance.
- Experience working with ladders (8 to 32 feet) both indoors and outdoors.
- The ability to lead by example and maintain high performance standards.
- Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, overnight shifts, rotating schedules, and be available for emergency situations.
- Constant standing and walking during the shift.
- Frequent lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs.
- Frequent kneeling, bending, and pushing/pulling.
- Occasional use of ladders, stairs, and ramps.
