- Regreening for the Future Project focusing on environmental sustainability and climate-smart practices.
- Sustainable Food Systems Project dedicated to enhancing food security and resilience through integrated livelihoods.
- Alale Anti-FGM Project committed to advocating for the elimination of Female Genital Mutilation and child marriages.

Community Mobilizers – Regreening for the future project (Open to local residents of Homa bay and Makueni counties only)

Key Responsibilities:
Project planning and implementation
- Collaborate with relevant partners at the County and community levels to ensure integration and high-level implementation of the research project interventions.
- Collaborate with various project stakeholders in conducting participatory assessments to inform research design.
- Facilitate participatory planning sessions with community members to develop adaptation pathway strategies.
- Participate in developing different levels of project reports (situational reports, workshop reports, quarterly, semi-annual and annual reports)
Community Engagement
- Build relationships with local leaders, county governments and other stakeholders to foster community ownership of the Regreening For the Future project.
- Collaborate in the mobilization and organization of meetings and events (scheduling and confirmation of participation, preparation of material, identification of logistics needs, preparation and management of attendance lists etc.)
Technical support
- Collaborate with project stakeholders in the design of frameworks for facilitating adaptation pathways in regreening communities’ processes.
- Facilitate establishment of community-level technical working groups to support integration of the project into the community’s existing and future regreening efforts.
- Participate in capacity needs assessments to determine the training and capacity building requirements of key project stakeholders.
- Promote the adoption of climate-smart practices and sustainable livelihoods amongst community members.
- Prepare regular reports on community engagement activities, awareness campaigns, and project beneficiary selection processes.
- Support data collection activities, including but not limited to community scoping and baseline data collection in the targeted project sites.
- Collaborate in the follow-up of the actions and referrals of the deliberations of the stakeholder meetings and other activities, in coordination with the project team.
Monitoring, Reporting, Evaluation and Documentation
- Collaborate in monitoring project implementation and ensuring project activities are aligned with community needs and project goals.
- Support project quality assurance through organizing and supporting monitoring visits on project intervention sites
- Develop an information dissemination and community feedback system to ensure emerging needs are adequately documented and addressed as and when they arise.
- Prepare weekly updates, monthly, quarterly, bi-annual and annual progress reports of activities related to project interventions
- Collaborate in the continuous tracking of the progress of the project’s planned activities and outputs as per the research design and Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning (MEL) framework.
Strategic Engagement, Partnership and Networking
- Represent World Vision Kenya in key stakeholder forum/meetings and relevant network at the ward, sub-county and county levels.
- Facilitates linkages of the community groups/structures to relevant networks for onward capacity building.
- Strengthen partnerships with the county government and other partners for effective support and capacity development of the communities for sustainability.
Required education, skills and experience:
- Degree or Diploma in Natural Resource Management/Environmental Science/ Agriculture/Agricultural economics/or equivalent qualifications from a recognized institution.
- Minimum of two years’ experience working with communities in Livelihood & Resilience/Food security/Climate change adaptation projects.
- Able to ride a motorbike with a valid license
- Excellent English communication skills (both oral and written) with a good understanding of the local dialect and context.
- Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office (or other main email system such as Microsoft Outlook)
- Ability to take initiative, a team leader able to work with minimum supervision
- Cross-cultural sensitivity and emotional maturity
- Ability to maintain performance expectations in diverse cultural contexts
- Understanding and demonstrated commitment to the importance of gender and youth livelihood and resilience programming.

Community Mobilizer, Sustainable Food Systems Project (Open to local residents of Makueni County)

Key Responsibilities:
Project Planning and Implementation
- Work with the Project Officer to systemically review DIP/budget and other key implementation tools and initiate innovative approaches that will open new frontiers for project success
- Support the project officer to coordinate as applicable sector integration interventions for ensuring integrated L&R implementation.
- Participate in the preparation of overall and activity work plans and budgets for the county specific activities.
- Ensure that business processes, standards and guidelines related to Livelihood & resilience initiatives are effectively applied on a timely manner in pro ject implementation including integration of cross cutting themes.
Technical support
- Support the Project Officer to ensure timely implementation of the project
- Mobilize support equipping of the farmers for long term resilience building through the creation of risk reducing assets for soil and water conservation (Zai pits, terraces, sunken beds, farm ponds and promotion of drought tolerant crops)
- Support the farmers to protect their development gains from cli mate shocks and avoid negative coping strategies such as the sale of productive assets, through indexed based crop insurance
- Support the Project Officer to ensure that secure livelihoods are sustained th rough adequate capital (including human, technological/physical, financial, social, natural, political capital) all year round
- Support creation/strengthening of Village Savings and Loans Associations (VSLAs) for creation of risk reserves through savings
- Mobilize the farmers for capacity on insurance, financial, health and sustainable chain development initiatives
- Identify other opportunities in an ongoing manner that will add value to the overarching goal of the project.
- Ensure child safeguarding and Child Sponsorship Management is integrated in L&R interventions where relevant.
- Projects are effectively and timely implemented
- Adequate skills available for implementation and sustainability of the project
Quality Assurance – M &E, Reporting and Documentation
- Document lessons and project impact to facilitate adoption in the course of the project implementation
- Support the Project Officer to organize and conduct county level scaling workshops to share lessons learnt and best practices for adoption and scale out by other relevant stakeholders.
- Support project assessment and learning processes
Capacity building
- Mobilize and sensitize community for empowerment and sustainability
- Support the Project Officer in building farmers capacity on VSLA, financial literacy, insurance, health and nutrition
- Support the Project Officer to promote proven approaches and integrated technologies (climate smart production aspects – soil and water conservation, good agronomic practices, post-harvest management, livestock management – apiculture and poultry to build the resilience farmers within the target VSLA groups.
- Support the capacity of community resource persons to spearhead project implementation
- Work together with other staff/ to ensure that key trainings meet the standard required to facilitate, provide
- knowledge and reinforcement of desired L&R behavior and practices
- Capacity of farmers build for project uptake and sustainability
Advocacy, Engagement, Partnership and Networking
- Ensure representation of WV Kenya in key L&R stakeholder forum/meetings at the Ward, Sub-County and County levels.
- Actively participate in County level technical working groups on L&R relevant to policy forums.
- Ensure communities are mobilized and participate in the project interventions
- Together with partners, conduct regular reflection and learning events
- Effective coordination with other stakeholders in the L&R sector
- Oversee farmer register validation, tracking and regularly updating the farmers database through Last Mile Mobile Solution (LMMS)
- Conduct regular group monitoring, data collection and analysis on seasonal crop, insurance enrolment and premium in coordination with the relevant stakeholders using the standardized tools in strict adherence to WV Kenya, Kenya Government and WFP guidelines and standardized tools
- Support the Project Officer in development of Project Designs and Annual Operation Plans. (4D matrices, DIPs, Annual Budgets) and ensure budgetary utilization is within acceptable limits/range.
- Work with the Project Officer to contextualize and use reporting guidelines to track and develop quality, monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, and annual and end of projects reports, key lessons and success stories in accordance with WFP and WV Kenya requirements.
- Timely and quality reports and assessments
- L&R infrastructures are structurally and aesthetically sound
- Effective project monitoring and documentation
- Support organization and facilitation of regular review and peer to peer learning meetings with government, target communities and relevant stakeholders
Required Education, skills and experience:
- Degree or Diploma in Agriculture/Agricultural Economics/ Environmental Education/Agricultural engineering/Community Development from a recognized university
- Minimum two years proven work experience in either relief or development Livelihood and Resilience/Food security projects with bias in Village Savings and Loaning Groups and Climate Smart Crop Production
- Excellent English communication skills (both oral and written).
- Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office
- Ability to facilitate L&R trainings to building staff and community capacity in L&R interventions
- Able to ride a motorbike with a valid license
- Ability to speak local dialect
- Knowledge/experience on crop insurance will be an added advantage
- Must be a local resident of Makueni county

Community Mobilizer- Alale Anti FGM Project ( Open to local residents of West Pokot County)

Key Responsibilities:
Project planning and implementation:
- Mobilize and sustain meaningful participation of community, government and local partners in Project interventions
- Facilitate the formation, training and strengthening of gender transformational groups i.e. Citizen
- Voice Action, Girl Child Rights Clubs in schools to lead advocacy activities promoting the elimination of FGM & Child Marriages.
- Support identification and capacity building of men and boys as champions and voices of change
- In consultation with the Cluster manager support identification and capacity building of CSOs
- Support train ToT on Community change model and facilitate issue based community intergenerational dialogues in the focus areas
- Mobilize communities and partners to participate in appropriate WV Models addressing root causes of Child protection
- Support CSOs to conduct issue-based talk shows and Anti FGM sporting activities to create Anti-FGM movement among the youth for surveillance and reporting
- Conduct sessions in local schools on child rights to strengthen child rights clubs
- Conduct training and sensitization sessions for law enforcers (Police, Chiefs, Department of Children Services, Office of the DPP, Magistrates) on their role in protection of Women and Girls and establishment of child and gender help desks.
- Train and support local community based organizations on gender based violence prevention and response, Chain of evidence custody and SOPs as well CVA (Citizen Voice and Action) to engage duty bearers and county governments on budgeting processes to ensure informed allocation towards addressing human rights violation
- In consultation with the Project Officer & Cluster Manager, facilitate partnering with local media stations to develop and disseminate locally relevant messaging on safe spaces
Quality assurance -Monitoring, Reporting, evaluation and Documentation:
- Train and support change agents and survivors on data collection (including tools), analysis and synthesis for duty bearer’s engagement
- Train community structures and Service providers on the use of CPIMS to ensure effective tracking of cases for efficient response and prosecution
- Partner organizations will be trained on innovative approaches including social media and mobile phones based initiatives
- Partner organizations will be facilitated to conduct joint monitoring visits
- Support baseline and end-line evaluation with integrated GESI assessment
- Together with partners develop monitoring tools and collect the monitoring data.
- Compile and file all the necessary, activity reports, weekly plans, monthly, quarterly and annual reports for forwarding to the Project Officer/ Cluster Manager
Strategic Engagement, Partnership and Networking on FGM/Child Marriage Prevention and response
- Facilitate networking relationships and participation with wide stakeholders such as government, church, faith based organization leaders and other key partners at local level such as NGOs, CBOs, CVA, IGA groups
- In consultation with the Project Officer & Cluster Manager and collaboration with other actors (CSOs) support development of county Child Protection related policies encompassing safe spaces
- Organize and facilitate celebration of international human/child rights campaign day, including International Day for Elimination of VAWG.
- Support local CBOs to advocate for the establishment of safe spaces, including information hubs where the survivors can openly share and receive support social, psychological support.
- Support meeting for the local structures including CUC/AAC and CP technical working group/ network to empower local & cross-border surveillance, reporting and referral mechanism
- Support the departments of Gender, Children Services, Office of the DPP, Police to conduct judicial service week and sensitization on the dissemination of National Policies i.e. the Children Act, Anti FGM Act, Sexual Offences Act which support the elimination of VAWG.
Support Resource Acquisition:
- Provide information to contribute towards fund raising initiatives for Integrated Child Protection related interventions
- Mobilize the community for contributions towards project interventions.
- Ensure Integrated Sponsorship implementation and monitoring
Required education, skills and experience:
- Diploma in Gender, Social Sciences, community development, Anthropology or related field from a recognized university/college. A degree will be an added advantage
- At least 2 years’ experience in Integrated Child protection programming
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal in English, Kiswahili.
- Ability to communicate in the local dialect
- Motor cycle rider with valid license
