Job Title: Learning Management System (LMS) and Media Services Officer (Re-advertisement)
Job Objective
The position holder will be responsible for training and supporting Open and Distance Education (ODE) instructors in creating, developing, and updating electronic/digital content. The role involves the production of multimedia digital assets, integration of content within the Learning Management System (LMS), and ensuring a seamless, user-friendly learning experience for students and instructors.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
1. Multimedia Content Production
- Produce Multimedia Digital Assets: Create engaging multimedia content, including graphics, animations, audio, and video, to support online learning modules.
- Video Production: Plan, shoot, edit, and produce instructional videos, lectures, and tutorials using advanced video editing software and equipment.
- Content Integration: Ensure seamless integration of multimedia content within the LMS, guaranteeing accessibility and user-friendliness.
- Quality Assurance: Test multimedia content for compatibility and accessibility across different platforms and devices.
- Content Updates and Maintenance: Keep multimedia content up to date by making necessary revisions and updates based on feedback, changes in course materials, and emerging trends.
2. Training and Support
- Training Educators: Train ODE instructors and staff on the use and development of multimedia content, empowering them to create effective online learning experiences.
- Technical Support: Provide ongoing technical support to students and instructors using the LMS, resolving multimedia-related issues promptly and efficiently.
- Collaborative Development: Work closely with instructional designers, educators, and technical teams to support the development of online course content.
3. Research and Development
- Stay Updated on Industry Trends: Keep up with emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices for online education to enhance the quality of multimedia content.
- Innovative Solutions: Continuously seek innovative solutions to improve the digital learning experience.
Qualifications and Experience
Educational Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Multimedia Design, Instructional Design, or any related Computing field.
- Master’s Degree in Multimedia Development or a related field is an added advantage.
Work Experience:
- At least three (3) years of proven experience in multimedia development, preferably in e-learning content creation.
- Must have experience in supervising employees in general support services.
- Demonstrable knowledge and experience with Moodle Learning Management System (LMS) and its functionalities.
Technical Skills and Competencies:
- Proficiency with Multimedia Authoring Tools: Including Adobe Creative Suite, Articulate Storyline, Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Corel Draw, Adobe Flash, or similar software.
- Video Production and Graphic Design Skills: Ability to produce high-quality videos and create visually engaging graphics.
- Technical Problem-Solving Skills: Strong troubleshooting abilities for multimedia and LMS-related issues.
- Communication and Collaboration Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills for working effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Detail-Oriented and Self-Motivated: Ability to work independently while maintaining a high standard of accuracy and creativity.
