Job Purpose:
Reporting to the Segment Head – Personal Banking the Scheme Origination Manager, Personal Banking is accountable for all sales activities, from lead generation through close, of an assigned industry/relationship using a formal selling approach. This role develops and implements an agreed upon daily work plan which will meet the personal needs of a salaried customer as well as onboarding institutions into Equity Bank Kenya Limited list of personal banking schemes.
The Scheme Origination Manager, Personal Banking will support the business to achieve its objectives on Loan Book Growth through crafting of new schemes, Deposit Mobilization, Growth of new salary accounts and Growth of non-funded income
The Scheme Origination Manager, Personal Banking will support the business to achieve its objectives on Loan Book Growth through crafting of new schemes, Deposit Mobilization, Growth of new salary accounts and Growth of non-funded income.
The scheme originator will implement business strategy by monitoring the growth of personal banking by providing pro-active management of all schemes and cross selling to ensure customers are utilizing as many EBKL products/ channels as appropriate. The role is at Senior Manager level.
Job Responsibilities/ Accountabilities:
• Onboarding new businesses/new MOUs /Schemes
• Mining new businesses from the existing MOUs to identify expansion and additional business opportunities.
• Reviewing the performance of the existing MOUs with a view to aligning them according to market demands.
• Mobilization of deposits and non-funded income through salary remittance and onboarding institutional collection accounts.
• Growing a high-quality Asset portfolio through recommendation and signing of sound and stable institutions.
• Gathering and collating emerging institutional issues and the expectations through market intelligence.
• Ensure timely accurate and efficient processing of MOU documents to establish unsecured and secured lending to respective relationships is within credit acceptable risks.
• Working with relationship officers, relationship managers-business, and credit analysts to execute credit requests within timely, accurate and agreed turnaround time in respective issues.
• Ensure brand visibility across relationships through promotion and participation of various activities within various institutions
• Continuous review and monitoring competitor’s products offering and industry trends with a view to enhance a competitive edge.
Deposit Mobilization
• Offer financial literacy to employees of newly signed schemes.
• Proactively market to employees of new institutions onboarded and make extensive customer visits to obtain new salary accounts and cement existing relationships.
• Liaison person between the institution and the bank to ensure smooth coordination with the institution’s calendar of events e.g. sports days, medical camps and involve other business stakeholders e.g. Equity Group Foundation, Equity Afia
• Onboarding and training customers on digital platforms
• Activation of dormant salary accounts
Market sensitization and Brand visibility.
• A brand ambassador of Equity bank in the market through marketing storms and institutional visits
• Share a weekly work plan of institutions visited and the business lead / opportunity derived from the customer visits.
• Building strong working relationships by activating and engaging the key decision makers of the various relationships
• Appreciating customers with branded promotional materials thus softening the brand and building loyalty to the bank.
• Support institutions through various corporate sponsorships thus increasing brand exposure, networking opportunities and lead generation.
Other Roles
• Liaise with various Sector internal and external Stakeholders in the branches and regions
• Update and advise the Segment Head- Personal Banking on progress of signing and onboarding of various schemes.
• Prompt follow up on customer complains until solved.
• Any other duties as may be assigned by the line manager.
Qualifications
Qualifications and Experience
• At least 7 years’ experience in Personal banking
• University degree in a Business or marketing related course
• Computer proficiency with high command in Microsoft suite.
