We currently have an exciting career opportunity for the Chief Distribution Officer within Jubilee Life Insurance Limited. The position holder will report to the Chief Executive Officer and will be based at our Head Office in Nairobi.
Role Purpose
The Chief Distribution Officer is responsible for overseeing and managing the retail life sales division, ensuring efficient service delivery, driving business growth, and ensuring compliance with industry regulations. The role involves strategy development, financial performance oversight, and ensuring the expansion of Agency, Bancassurance, and Alternative Channels.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategy
- Support the CEO in developing departmental strategies, budgets, and business plans.
- Develop and execute strategies to drive business growth in Agency, Bancassurance, and Alternative Channels.
- Lead financial performance management, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
- Identify and evaluate strategic partnerships, alliances, and joint ventures to expand market reach.
- Foster relationships with key stakeholders, industry associations, and networks to enhance corporate visibility.
- Monitor portfolio performance and risk exposure.
2. Business Growth & Development
- Identify new business opportunities within the Agency, Bancassurance, and Alternative Channels.
- Conduct market research and analysis to define target markets and competitive landscape.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key decision-makers and influencers.
- Collaborate with internal teams to design and launch innovative solutions.
- Monitor industry trends, regulatory changes, and competitive activities to identify growth opportunities.
- Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and seminars.
3. Operational Management
- Oversee the management and performance of various distribution channels, including online platforms and partnerships.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and digitization to enhance efficiency.
- Maintain strong relationships with bank partners for successful bancassurance distribution.
- Work with the training manager to develop training programs for agency personnel to enhance sales and customer service skills.
- Implement risk management and control measures to mitigate operational risks.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with key clients to enhance customer experience.
4. Jubilee Life Brand Management
- Ensure effective public relations to enhance the company’s corporate image.
5. Corporate Governance
- Ensure compliance with Kenyan laws, industry regulations, and company policies.
- Implement risk management strategies, including internal controls to mitigate operational, financial, and regulatory risks.
6. Leadership & People Management
- Collaborate with channel leaders to ensure alignment with strategic objectives.
- Provide transformational leadership to exceed stakeholder expectations.
- Build departmental capacity through training, mentorship, and performance management.
