Job Position: Community Oral Health Officer (1)
Reports to: Medical Director
Job Summary:
The Community Oral Health Officer (COHO) is responsible for delivering essential oral health services, including examination, treatment, and hygiene education to prevent dental decay. The role involves providing direct patient care, educating the community about oral health, and working with healthcare professionals to promote overall well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement dental health education programs for the community and Matibabu Foundation Kenya (MFK) partners.
- Conduct surveys within the community to assess oral health status and needs, providing reports and recommendations for action.
- Perform basic dental treatments such as tooth cleaning, fluoride application, temporary fillings, and tooth extractions.
- Maintain accurate patient records, track oral health trends within the community, and analyze data to identify key areas of concern.
- Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to enhance overall health and well-being.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Diploma in Community Oral Health.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience working as a COHO in a health facility, preferably in a rural setting.
- Good communication and presentation skills.
- Must possess a valid Practicing License (where applicable).
- Strong leadership and analytical skills.
- Mature, friendly, confident, and caring nature.
