About the Institute of Health Care Management (IHM)
The Institute of Health Care Management (IHM) plays a key role in strengthening healthcare research and advancing the field within Strathmore University Business School. The Institute is dedicated to developing and implementing world-class academic and executive training programs that foster excellence in healthcare leadership, management, and policy development.
The Institute also facilitates research projects and publications, secures scholarships and PhD training slots, and works closely with international universities, donors, and research institutions. Through these initiatives, IHM contributes to the growth and development of the healthcare sector.
Job Profile
The Director of IHM will report to the Associate Dean, Research and Innovation in SBS and will be responsible for the overall leadership and management of the Institute. The appointee will set the strategic direction, provide academic vision, and oversee all administrative functions of IHM.
The successful candidate must be a senior researcher and faculty member with a distinguished academic career. They must demonstrate expertise in securing significant external research grants and should currently be managing multiple active research projects. Additionally, the candidate must have:
- A strong and extensive publication record in high-impact, peer-reviewed journals of international repute.
- Experience in obtaining and successfully managing research funding.
- Senior leadership experience in academic institutions or industry.
- A proven track record in managing research institutes, centers, or large research programs.
- A strong background in teaching and mentoring, with a history of successfully supervising Master’s and PhD students.
- Active participation in major international and national conferences, workshops, and symposia relevant to their expertise.
