Our client, a licensed non-withdrawable deposit taking Sacco in Nairobi, is seeking to recruit qualified and highly motivated individuals to fill the position of an ICT Officer.
Reporting to the ICT Manager, the individual will be responsible for managing and supporting the organization’s ICT infrastructure, business applications, and digital platforms. The role includes system administration, database management, ICT asset tracking, software support, and end-user assistance to enhance operational efficiency and business continuity.
Key Responsibilities:
Systems Administration & Support
- Manage, monitor, and maintain the Sacco’s ICT infrastructure, including workstations, printers, and network devices.
- Provide technical support for Microsoft Dynamics Business Central ERP, ensuring smooth operation and issue resolution.
- Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot user accounts, access controls, and system settings.
- Ensure regular system updates, patches, and backups to prevent data loss and security vulnerabilities.
- Provide Level 1 and Level 2 support for ICT-related issues and escalate complex problems to ICT Manager or vendors or higher-level support teams.
Database & Applications Management
- Support SQL database operations, including queries and backups.
- Support Office 365 applications, including SharePoint, OneDrive, Exchange, and Teams, ensuring efficient collaboration and document management.
- Manage and update the Sacco’s website built on WordPress, ensuring security, performance, and content accuracy.
- Support and manage web applications, including deployment and maintenance on Internet Information Services (IIS) or other web servers.
- Assist in troubleshooting integration issues between different business applications.
ICT Inventory & Asset Management
- Maintain an updated inventory of ICT assets, including hardware and software licenses.
- Track IT equipment lifecycle, manage warranty claims, and recommend timely upgrades or replacements.
- Ensure proper documentation, tagging, and asset movement tracking.
End-User Support & Training
- Provide timely technical support to staff for hardware, software, and network-related issues.
- Develop training materials and conduct training sessions on ICT systems, security best practices, and software usage.
- Assist new employees in setting up user accounts, access controls, and system profiles.
ICT Security & Compliance
- Implement ICT security guidelines and ensure adherence to best practices.
- Support cybersecurity awareness initiatives and staff training.
- Assist in monitoring ICT security incidents and report any potential threats.
Software Development & Integration (Added Advantage)
- Provide basic support for in-house applications and scripts to automate routine ICT tasks.
- Work with third-party developers to implement and support software solutions tailored to the Sacco’s needs.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in ICT support, systems administration, or a similar role.
- Experience working in a financial institution, SACCO, or Fintech environment is an added advantage.
Technical Skills & Competencies:
- Proficiency in SQL database management, including writing and optimizing queries.
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics Business Central (or related ERP systems).
- Strong knowledge of Office 365 administration, including SharePoint, Exchange, and Teams.
- Hands-on experience with WordPress website management, including security best practices.
- Basic software development knowledge is an added advantage.
- Strong networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP and VLANs.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
