Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive inspections and audits of avionics systems in aircraft to verify compliance with national and international airworthiness standards.
  • Review and approve maintenance procedures, modifications, and repairs related to avionics equipment.
  • Investigate incidents or accidents involving avionics failures, providing technical reports and recommendations to prevent recurrence.
  • Liaise with aircraft manufacturers, maintenance organizations, and operators to address avionics-related airworthiness concerns.
  • Develop and update airworthiness directives and advisory materials specific to avionics systems.
  • Mentor and train junior inspectors to enhance their technical proficiency in avionics oversight.

Note: This role requires frequent travel to conduct on-site inspections and engage with stakeholders nationwide.


2. Chief Internal Auditor – Financial

The Chief Internal Auditor – Financial will spearhead the Authority’s internal audit function, focusing on financial systems, risk management, and compliance.

  • Identify financial risks and operational inefficiencies, recommending corrective actions to strengthen internal controls.

3. Chief Accountant – Revenue

Flight Operations Inspectors will ensure the safe and compliant operation of large and medium aircraft within Kenya’s airspace. This role involves rigorous oversight of airlines, pilots, and operational procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct routine and surprise inspections of airlines to verify compliance with flight operations regulations.
  • Evaluate pilot licensing, training records, and competency assessments to ensure adherence to standards.
  • Investigate reported violations of flight operations protocols, issuing corrective measures as needed.
  • Review and approve airline operational manuals, including flight dispatch, crew scheduling, and emergency procedures.
  • Participate in accident and incident investigations, providing expertise on operational factors.
