Job Description
As an IT Intern at The Nairobi Women’s Hospital, you will play a key role in supporting the hospital’s IT infrastructure, digital systems, and internal communication platforms. This role offers a valuable opportunity to gain practical experience in various facets of IT operations within a healthcare setting. You’ll work closely with IT professionals and various departments, providing support that ensures smooth digital operations across the hospital.
Your key responsibilities will include:
1. Technical Support
- Troubleshoot and resolve IT-related hardware and software issues reported by users across departments.
- Assist in the setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting of computers, printers, scanners, and other peripherals.
- Provide first-line support for IT service requests including password resets, account issues, and application errors.
2. IT Systems Maintenance
- Assist in monitoring the performance of computer systems and networks to ensure reliability and efficiency.
- Support system updates and patches under the guidance of the IT team.
- Participate in documentation of IT processes and maintenance logs.
3. Digital Transformation Support
- Provide support to ongoing digital transformation projects including system upgrades and new software implementations.
- Assist in testing and deployment of new digital tools and platforms used in patient care, administration, and communication.
- Participate in staff training sessions on newly implemented systems where necessary.
4. Data Backup and Security
- Support the IT team in implementing data backup strategies and ensuring data integrity.
- Participate in the enforcement of IT policies including safe internet usage, antivirus protocols, and secure data handling.
- Help monitor IT security alerts and contribute to awareness campaigns on digital safety.
5. Communication and User Engagement
- Act as a liaison between the IT department and staff to ensure timely support and resolution of technical concerns.
- Maintain a customer-focused attitude when responding to support requests.
- Provide input for improving user experience on digital platforms within the hospital.
Who We Are Looking For
We are looking for enthusiastic and driven individuals who meet the following criteria:
- Recent Graduate: Must have graduated within the last one (1) year with a Diploma or Degree in Computer Science.
- Professional Certifications (an advantage): Holding any of the following certifications will be an added advantage – MCITP, A+, or N+.
