Role Overview
Equity Investment Bank is seeking an experienced and dynamic Global Market Specialist to spearhead the development and management of global market solutions. This role will drive the bank’s offerings in both regional and offshore markets, leveraging deep expertise in investment products, market dynamics, and client relationship management.
Job Responsibilities/ Accountabilities
1. Global Market Strategy and Intelligence
• Develop comprehensive global investment strategies targeting Sub-Saharan African markets
• Devise innovative trading strategies for the Local and Eurobond markets, driving revenue growth
• Identify and evaluate global investment channels for African market exposure
• Develop strategic approaches for offshore investment vehicles targeting African markets
2. Business Development
• Expand financial services across East Africa and gradually to the entire African continent through convening and intermediation of capital.
• Spearhead client portfolio growth by designing and executing investment strategies tailored to market opportunities and macroeconomic trends.
• Expand EIB’s regional and continental footprint by sourcing and onboarding major institutional clients.
• Negotiate with clients and counterparties to secure advantageous product pricing and terms by leveraging in-depth market knowledge and trader inventories.
3. Market Analysis and Research
• Perform comprehensive global and regional economic analysis
• Track macroeconomic indicators across international and African markets
• Develop predictive models for market performance
• Create integrated research frameworks connecting global and African market insights
4. Stakeholder Engagement
• Develop sophisticated investment presentations for global and institutional investors
• Create comprehensive research reports and market insights
• Support high-net-worth and institutional client engagement
• Represent the organization in international investment forums
• Build and maintain global network of investment professionals
5. Risk Assessment and Compliance
• Develop advanced risk assessment methodologies
• Create comprehensive risk mitigation strategies for global and offshore investments
• Ensure compliance with international and regional regulatory requirements
• Monitor geopolitical and economic risks across multiple jurisdictions
• Design adaptive risk management frameworks
Qualifications
Required Qualifications/Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree or professional certifications (e.g., CFA) are highly desirable
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in global markets or investment analysis, with at least 3 years in a senior role
- Strong knowledge of financial markets, investment products, and regulatory requirements in the Sub-Saharan Africa region and global markets.
