The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) of Kenya invites eligible graduates and diploma holders to apply for its highly anticipated Internship Programme for 2025. Overview of the Programme

The JSC Internship Programme 2025 is divided into two categories:

  1. Degree Internship Programme – for candidates holding a Bachelor’s Degree in relevant fields.
  2. Diploma Internship Programme – for diploma graduates with qualifications in technical or administrative disciplines.

A. Degree Internship Programme

1. Office Administration (Secretarial Services)

Vacancies: 5
Interns in this role will be responsible for supporting administrative functions in judicial offices. Key responsibilities will include drafting memos, scheduling meetings, filing official documents, managing executive calendars, and handling correspondence. Interns may also assist in organizing office logistics and providing clerical support to senior officers.

2. Information Communication & Technology (ICT)

Vacancies: 12
This cluster of roles is divided into several ICT specializations to provide diverse training experiences:

  • ICT Security (2 positions):
    Interns will support cybersecurity efforts by monitoring networks for vulnerabilities, implementing data protection strategies, and supporting secure IT usage policies.
  • Network Administration (2 positions):
    Responsibilities will include maintaining network infrastructure, troubleshooting connection issues, supporting secure VPN access, and ensuring smooth internet operations across court stations.
  • Database Administration (2 positions):
    Interns will assist in maintaining databases that support judiciary operations. Tasks will include data entry validation, system updates, and backup procedures.
  • Web Development (1 position):
    Interns will contribute to updating and improving JSC’s digital presence through the development of web pages and maintenance of internal portals.
  • System Administration (2 positions):
    Interns will learn to install, configure, and troubleshoot systems such as Windows and Linux, manage system accounts, and apply updates.
  • Application Development (1 position):
    This intern will support development teams working on custom judiciary software applications used in case management and record keeping.

3. Human Resource Management

4. Supply Chain Management

5. Information Science and Records Management Services

6. Building Services

This functional area is subdivided into engineering and architectural roles:

    Interns will support the design of new court buildings and office renovations. This will include producing layouts, CAD drawings, and assisting with project planning.
  • Mechanical Engineering (2 positions):
    Responsibilities include helping to maintain mechanical installations in judicial facilities such as air conditioning units, plumbing systems, and generators.
  • Electrical Engineering (1 position):

8. General Graduate Trainees (Courts)

B. Diploma Internship Programme

This stream is specifically curated for diploma holders who wish to enhance their professional experience in judicial operations. Each area of deployment includes a detailed scope of responsibilities as outlined below:

1. Office Administration (Secretarial Services)

Vacancies: 50
Interns in this role will be exposed to routine clerical work in judiciary offices. They will handle duties such as typing legal documents, managing schedules, preparing meeting agendas, handling filing systems, operating office equipment, and providing general support to judicial administrators.

2. Information Communication & Technology (ICT Support)

Vacancies: 40
ICT Support interns will work with ICT officers to provide end-user support, troubleshoot issues with computers and peripherals, manage ICT inventory, and conduct minor system upgrades. Interns will also help configure email clients, printers, scanners, and support system maintenance tasks.

3. Supply Chain Management

Vacancies: 10
Interns will assist procurement officers in sourcing goods and services, preparing purchase orders, receiving and recording deliveries, and maintaining accurate records. They will also support the processing of invoices and liaise with vendors.

4. Information Science and Records Management Services

Vacancies: 10
This function is split into two specialty areas:

  • Library Services (5 positions):
    Interns will manage library resources, assist legal researchers, help in organizing materials, and catalogue new arrivals.
  • Records Management (5 positions):
    Duties will include organizing registry files, indexing new documents, assisting with digitization, and responding to document retrieval requests.

5. Building Services – Building & Civil Engineering

Vacancies: 5
