About the Role

As the Information Technology Services Associate, you will play a crucial role in enhancing KPMG’s internal IT capabilities. Your core focus will include IT systems administration, managing infrastructure and networks, supporting users across various departments, and leading critical cloud migration and DevOps initiatives.

This role will be pivotal in driving automation through infrastructure-as-code, primarily using Terraform, and orchestrating seamless deployments via CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps.


Key Roles and Responsibilities

  • Provide expert-level support for IT helpdesk issues across all levels of the organization.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to inform technical decisions and support strategic planning.
  • Present architecture options and technical recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Oversee IT systems administration, especially Windows servers and enterprise applications.
  • Manage on-premises and cloud-based IT infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and robust security.
  • Design and implement complex IT infrastructure solutions for high-performance environments.
  • Architect Azure-based cloud solutions that prioritize scalability, availability, cost-efficiency, and security.
  • Spearhead the migration of on-premises workloads to Azure, employing re-hosting, replatforming, and refactoring strategies.
  • Produce detailed cloud architecture and network diagrams, coupled with comprehensive documentation.
  • Develop and maintain infrastructure as code (IaC) using Terraform.
  • Build and administer CI/CD pipelines and automation tooling to streamline infrastructure deployment.
  • Apply DevOps methodologies and tools to improve operational efficiency and reliability.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, aligned with the organization’s IT goals.

Academic and Professional Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Professional certification in Microsoft Azure Cloud (e.g., Azure Administrator, Azure DevOps Engineer).
  • Certification in Terraform or other relevant cloud technologies is an added advantage.

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum of 1–3 years of experience in IT systems administration, IT support, infrastructure management, and network operations.
  • Hands-on experience building and managing CI/CD pipelines.
  • Strong experience with automation tools and scripting for IT infrastructure.

Core Competencies and Attributes

  • Solid understanding of emerging cloud trends and best practices across public, private, and hybrid environments.
  • Deep knowledge in cloud administration, Windows systems, virtualization, and IT security.
  • Proven user support experience in fast-paced, high-performance settings.
  • Familiarity with DevOps tools and best practices for infrastructure management.
  • Knowledge of IT security protocols, VoIP systems, and the ITIL framework.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Excellent coordination, planning, and documentation skills.
  • Capability to work across multicultural settings and jurisdictions within Africa.
  • High levels of resilience, tenacity, and professionalism, especially when handling client-facing scenarios.
  • Strong multitasking abilities and a problem-solving mindset.
  • High integrity, ethical standards, and a team-oriented approach to work.
