Job Purpose
The primary purpose of the Consultant Radiologist role is to provide advanced technical support in radiology reporting, guide radio sonographers, and perform specialized radiological procedures. The position also involves playing a pivotal role in managing quality assurance across the radiology department to support accurate diagnosis and optimal treatment outcomes.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Radiology Reporting & Imaging Services
Perform radiology reporting and advanced imaging procedures in compliance with established clinical protocols to ensure accurate and timely diagnosis and enhance the quality of patient care. - Protocol Development & Implementation
Lead in developing, reviewing, and enforcing standard operating procedures (SOPs) and imaging protocols in collaboration with other clinical departments to maintain quality and consistency in imaging services. - Patient-Centered Care Delivery
Provide radiographic services that align with a patient-centric approach to enhance the overall patient experience and support evidence-based medical diagnosis. - Leadership in Departmental Strategy and Policy Execution
Offer leadership in the implementation of departmental strategies and policies that are in line with AAR Hospital’s growth objectives and regulatory compliance requirements. - Innovation & Service Development
Spearhead the development and rollout of innovative radiological services that contribute to the hospital’s financial sustainability, service diversity, and enhanced operational efficiency. - Clinical Quality Management
Ensure adherence to high clinical quality standards through the development and application of clinical quality management frameworks, including compliance with SafeCare standards. - Credentialing Oversight & Clinical Governance
Assist the Head of Clinical Services in ensuring all practicing radiologists meet credentialing and professional compliance requirements. - Stakeholder and Community Engagement
Build and maintain strong relationships with referring community physicians and partner organizations to increase patient referrals and promote hospital-based specialist services. - Interdepartmental Collaboration
Promote interdisciplinary collaboration across various departments within AAR Hospital to maximize efficiency, minimize duplication of effort, and deliver integrated and cost-effective patient care.
Qualifications & Experience
Education
- Master of Medicine in Radiology and Diagnostic Imaging
- Fellowship training is an added advantage
- Bachelor’s Degree in Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery
Experience
- Minimum of 3 years’ post-specialization experience as a Radiologist
- Previous management or leadership experience in a clinical setting is an added advantage
