Administrative Positions

1. Registrar, Academic Affairs – Grade 15

Ref: RU/AFP/01/25 | Number of Positions: 1

Job Description:
The Registrar, Academic Affairs will provide leadership and oversight in the implementation of academic policies and procedures. Responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating the preparation of teaching and examination timetables.
  • Managing academic calendars and academic-related documents like transcripts and certificates.
  • Overseeing curriculum development and review processes.
  • Managing credit transfer and certification verification procedures.
  • Supporting establishment of linkages with industry and other institutions.
  • Enforcing academic rules and regulations concerning research, syllabus implementation, and student conduct.
  • Providing secretarial services to the University Senate and academic committees.
  • Ensuring compliance with professional and statutory regulatory bodies.
  • Coordinating academic functions during graduation and convocation ceremonies.
  • Leading training needs assessments within the academic division.
  • Budgeting and managing funds and resources allocated to the academic division.

2. Registrar, Administration and Planning – Grade 15

Ref: RU/AFP/02/25 | Number of Positions: 1

Job Description:
The Registrar, Administration and Planning will lead the University’s strategic and administrative functions. Duties include:

  • Coordinating the development and periodic review of the University’s Strategic and Master Plans.
  • Developing and enforcing policies that guide the institution’s long-term and short-term objectives.
  • Preparing annual budgets and monitoring the University’s capital projects.
  • Supervising heads of departments within the division to ensure target alignment.
  • Leading staff performance appraisals and coordinating training and development programs.
  • Monitoring the implementation of management decisions.
  • Serving as the secretariat to committees and ensuring accurate documentation.
  • Conducting needs assessments and staff development planning.
  • Managing infrastructure maintenance, fleet services, and quality management systems.
  • Overseeing staff discipline and ensuring a safe and healthy working environment.
  • Promoting industrial harmony through effective conflict resolution and stakeholder engagement.

Terms of Service:
The successful candidate will be appointed on a four (4) year contract, renewable based on satisfactory performance.


3. Farm Manager – Grade 12

Ref: RU/AFP/03/25 | Number of Positions: 1

Job Description:
The Farm Manager will be responsible for efficient management and profitability of the University farm. Key duties include:

  • Planning farm operations, selecting viable enterprises, and setting income targets.
  • Maintaining records for livestock and crops.
  • Supervising farm staff and overseeing daily operations.
  • Managing procurement, budgeting, and financial reporting for farm activities.
  • Analyzing operational performance and implementing improvements.
  • Scheduling equipment maintenance and overseeing utilization of farm inputs.
  • Handling marketing and sales of farm products.
  • Enforcing health and safety regulations.
  • Building professional networks and staying updated on agricultural trends.

Interview:
Shortlisted candidates will be required to make a 10-minute presentation on a business plan for an enterprise of their choice.

Appointment:
Three (3) year contract, renewable based on performance.

1. Lecturer – Special Needs (Visual Impairment) – Grade 12

2. Lecturer – Special Needs (Hearing Impairment) – Grade 12

Ref: RU/ACAD/02/25 | Number of Positions: 1

3. Lecturer – Education Planning and Management – Grade 12

Ref: RU/ACAD/03/25 | Number of Positions: 1

Job Description (for all Lecturer Positions):
The Lecturers will engage in teaching, research, and community service within their respective specializations. Responsibilities include:

  • Teaching and assessing undergraduate and postgraduate students.
  • Conducting original research and publishing in peer-reviewed journals.
  • Supervising theses, dissertations, practicums, and fieldwork.
  • Mentoring students and junior academic staff.
  • Developing and reviewing academic curricula.
  • Writing proposals and attracting research funding.
  • Providing professional consultancy and community outreach services.
  • Participating in departmental, faculty, and university-wide academic activities.
  • Establishing linkages with industry and stakeholders.
