We are currently seeking a qualified Community Mobilizer – Child Safeguarding to join our team in Mondi, Kenya. This is a vital frontline role within our local programming in Baringo County, particularly Tiaty East/West, aimed at advancing child protection, community mobilization, and development initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
1. Mobilization and Project Implementation at Local Level
- Mobilize communities for all BDECM project interventions.
- Act as the liaison between World Vision and local stakeholders for effective project implementation.
- Apply participatory approaches to foster community ownership in development activities.
- Coordinate community participation in key events such as the Day of the African Child (DAC) and project handovers.
- Support systems for abused children and strengthen referral mechanisms within the community.
- Facilitate community and local partner capacity-building efforts.
- Participate in planning and reporting of local programs.
- Conduct participatory needs assessments and facilitate identification of community resources.
- Develop and follow monthly field monitoring schedules.
- Engage in participatory monitoring involving community members and partners.
- Use standardized tools for data collection and reporting.
- Draft monthly field progress reports and ensure proper documentation.
- Involve community leaders in planning monitoring activities.
- Participate in evaluations and improvement sessions.
2. Engagement and Networking
- Represent World Vision Kenya in community-level forums related to Child Protection (CP), Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), and Livelihood & Resilience (L&R).
- Identify community needs and communicate them for potential resource mobilization.
- Support community advocacy efforts related to child well-being, ending child marriage, climate change, and best practices.
- Collaborate with local partners, including CACs, county governments, and CP structures to implement child protection initiatives.
- Ensure timely reporting and resolution of child protection issues.
Applicant Requirements
- Must be a local resident of Tiaty East Sub-County, preferably Silale.
- Must be able to ride a motorcycle and possess a valid riding license.
