Principal Accountabilities (Responsibility)
- Installing wooden structures such as roofing frames, rafters, partitions, joists and studwork.
- Designing and installing cabinets, shelving, fitted furniture, drywall and insulation.
- Adding fixtures and fittings such as door handles, locks, hinges and closures.
- Selecting lumber by size and strength to suit each job, sourcing wood to suit the customer’s budget and style.
- Calculating the number of fasteners required for each job.
- Liaising with clients, suppliers and other construction professionals.
- Carryout regular maintenance of carpentry installations in various sites.
- Perform any necessary repairs to installations.
- Answer calls for carpentry issues from internal users.
- Keep up to date with current safety regulations and requirements for the various carpentry installations.
- Work carefully to follow all current regulations for carpentry work to ensure that all installations pass inspections.
- Communicate well with users to ensure client satisfaction.
- Communicate well with team members and fellow staff.
- Manage a work log.
- Keep detailed reports of work done at various job sites.
Qualification (Minimum)
- Certificate in Carpentry and Joinery.
- KCSE C PLAIN
- 5 Years ’Experience.
- Ability to read, understand and interpret approved building drawings.
- Basic analytical skills to identify &recommend areas that require upgrade or replacement.
- Experience in dry works installations.
- Furniture making and upholstery.
- Ability to use joinery tools and machinery
