Marketing Consultant (Nairobi, Kenya)

About the Role
Solar Panda has historically operated with minimal marketing efforts, relying mostly on organic growth and word of mouth. Now, we’re ready to shift gears and expand our reach through strategic marketing initiatives including local radio, better signage, roadshows, and digital campaigns.
As our Marketing Consultant, you’ll be at the forefront of this transformation. Your role will be both strategic and hands-on, leading the ideation, planning, and execution of campaigns across multiple channels. You’ll play a key role in shaping our brand presence, enhancing customer engagement, and ultimately driving demand for our solar products.
This is an exciting opportunity for a creative, data-savvy marketing expert who thrives in fast-paced environments and has a passion for social impact and clean energy.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise senior management on strategic marketing directions that align with company goals.
- Identify and implement performance metrics to assess the effectiveness and return on marketing investments.
- Develop a comprehensive marketing program that enhances demand, builds brand equity, and integrates multiple initiatives (e.g., radio, digital, roadshows).
- Analyze market trends and competitor activity to uncover opportunities and threats.
- Oversee the creation, approval, and distribution of all marketing and communication materials, ensuring brand consistency.
- Approve and manage digital content calendars, digital media buys, and social media campaigns across all platforms.
What We’re Looking For
- A proactive and creative marketing professional with a strong understanding of both traditional and digital marketing strategies.
- A minimum of 4 years of relevant work experience, ideally in a marketing-focused role.
- A proven track record of driving customer acquisition and brand visibility.
- Strong strategic thinking, innovation, and business acumen.
- Demonstrated success in managing marketing agencies and external creative partners.
- Excellent communication and persuasive writing skills.
- Ability to convert complex concepts into simple, effective marketing messages.
- Strong organizational skills, adaptability to changing priorities, and the ability to work under tight deadlines.
- A collaborative, results-oriented mindset with a can-do attitude.
