Teaching Assistant

Braeburn Mombasa International School is seeking a committed and dynamic Teaching Assistant to support classroom teaching and student learning. This role offers an excellent opportunity to make a real difference in pupils’ academic and personal development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the educational and social development of pupils under the guidance of the class teacher, SENCO, and Headteacher.
- Provide one-on-one or small group support to students, including assistance in phonics, mathematics, reading, and writing.
- Help implement and monitor individual education programmes (IEPs).
- Assist in the creation of classroom resources and learning materials.
- Supervise and support students both inside and outside the classroom.
- Liaise with professionals such as speech and occupational therapists as required.
- Support students with emotional and behavioral challenges, aiding in the development of social skills.
- Handle routine administrative duties as requested by teaching staff.
Expectations of the Role:
- Promote and support the aims and ethos of the school.
- Set an exemplary standard in dress, punctuality, and attendance.
- Participate in professional development activities, Inset days, and school meetings as needed.
- Comply with health and safety procedures and contribute to a safe learning environment.
- Manage assigned tasks independently and meet required deadlines.
- Support classroom teachers in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons.
Candidate Profile:
- Diploma or Degree in an Education-related field.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal).
- Good organizational ability and the capacity to work independently.
- Familiarity with administrative duties within a school setting.
- Willingness to engage with students needing additional academic or emotional support.
- Must have a bank account, Social Health Authority (SHA) registration, NSSF registration, KRA PIN, and a recent police clearance certificate.
