1. Physical Health Education Teacher
Role Summary
The Physical Health Education teacher shall be responsible for the implementation of the physical education curriculum as per the objectives/standards of the school. The candidate will endeavor to foster a positive and inclusive learning environment, promote physical fitness, teamwork and sportsmanship.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintaining accurate records of work and student progress, which reflect a skill progression through the school.
- The planning and organization of the school’s yearly/term sporting calendar.
- S/He will be tasked with organising school sporting events which include sports days and house games.
- The PHE Teacher will be expected to organize inter-school tournaments for all sports activities offered by the school.
- Coach the school teams to prepare them for both internal and external tournaments.
- Undertaking health education programmes which prepare students for life.
- Instructing students in sports, recreational activities and healthy lifestyle issues, encouraging and developing physical fitness, skills, building self-esteem, and interpersonal skills.
- Participate in the submission of a yearly budget forecast for the games department.
- Assess and evaluate student performance and provide constructive feedback.
- Organize and supervise extracurricular sports and fitness activities.
2. Driver (Locum)
OVERALL RESPONSIBILITY
- The successful candidates will be responsible for driving hospital vehicles including a mobile clinic to various outreach clinic events, health fairs, and community events, setting up for clinic services, and performing a variety of clerical duties as assigned. We are looking for a professional, outgoing, and friendly team member with ability to multi-task. Must be reliable, readily available when called upon, hardworking, and able to work independently. Must maintain or exceed competency levels as established by corporate standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ability to perform basic vehicle maintenance and coordinate repair services on mobile clinic van and all agency vehicles.
- Perform basic record keeping duties.
- Perform pre-trip and post trip inspections.
- Drive hospital vehicles to various destinations.
- Ensure the vehicle/truck/van is fully operation.
- Properly maintains vehicle cleanliness.
- Schedule required service and repairs with the logistics coordinator/ Manager Logistics and security
- Report all accidents or incidents immediately as and when they occur to the supervisor and follow due process.
- Maintain updated travel log to record areas travelled to, travel time, and work hours.
- Be in liaison with law enforcement agencies eg Traffic Police and NTSA officials
3. IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) Coordinator
The Aga Khan Academy, Nairobi has an opening for the position of: IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) Coordinator.
Role Summary
The PYP Coordinator plays a critical role in ensuring the successful implementation of the IB Primary Years Programme from Nursery (K1) to Grade 5. This includes curriculum development, pedagogical leadership and staff professional growth to ensure high-quality, inquiry-based learning. The coordinator leads curriculum planning, ensures compliance with IB requirements, and fosters a strong culture of professional learning aligned with the Academy’s mission and vision.
4. Radiology Quality and Safety Officer
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead the development and implementation of radiology quality and patient safety programs.
- Review processes, quality control, and other imaging reports for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with standard requirements.
- Monitor compliance with imaging safety protocols, radiation protection guidelines, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Conduct regular audits, incident investigations, and root cause analyses to identify areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with radiologists, technologists, and other healthcare staff to promote a culture of safety and quality.
- Track performance indicators, maintain documentation, and report on departmental quality and safety metrics.
- Support accreditation processes and regulatory inspections (e.g., SafeCare, JCI, or local regulatory bodies).
- Coordinate continuous staff training program and competency assessment to promote high quality radiology services.
- Comply with Health & Safety requirements in the Hospital by maintaining high standards of hygiene, radiation safety and general cleanliness in the work area.
- Address all quality and safety gaps implementing effective corrective and preventive actions.
5. P1 Teacher – French / ICT
Key Responsibilities
- To prepare and deliver high-quality lessons in line with the school’s vision and mission.
- To collaboratively develop unit and lesson plans for the curriculum
- To ensure students acquire excellent knowledge and skills so that they make progress, achieve their targets and are prepared for the next stage of their careers
- Produce documents such as Unit plans, Records of Work, Course outlines, class analyses etc.
- Differentiate lessons in order to match learners’ needs
- Involve the learners in different learning activities such as storytelling, role plays, numbers and letters recognition, etc.
- Displaying learners’ work in the classroom to showcase their abilities and finished projects.
- Plan regular excursions to expose them to different environments.
- Observe the behavior of children and help them improve it by building self-confidence and teaching social values.
- To guide learners with learning differences and behavioral challenges.
- Manage and update the progress of children and create reports for parents.
6. Academy Fellows
The Academy Fellow will live in an apartment and serve the student residential programme as a Residential Parent promoting community life and are responsible for the following aspects of student and academic life.
- While the Academy Fellow does not teach, s/he will be scheduled to have some contact with classes, to engage fully with the learning and teaching of the Academy so that he/she can support students with additional tutoring after school hours and during residential study time. This will be approximately 10 hours a week (supporting 2 or 3 classes in a subject of the fellow/intern’s choice. Maths and Science are the areas of most need along with English as an Additional Language for our students who join on the Talent Identification Programme from marginalised communities in Kenya.)
- Developing and delivering the Service- Learning Programme which takes place every week with Years 6-10. This is a 10 hour a week commitment and requires planning the activities, working with community partners, delivering the programme to. Students and colleagues and supporting individual groups as they develop and implement their projects.
- Academy Fellows play a major role as Residential Parents in guiding residential students in their personal and academic goals and as Mentors for a small group of students to support them academically and socially. As residential parents fellows are expected to develop close relationships with their dorm sons/daughters by checking in with them frequently as well as supervising in an official capacity twice a week and one weekend in three.
- Academy Fellows are expected to actively contribute to the co-curricular programme in some way such as coaching athletic teams, providing music lessons or running clubs such as gardening, cooking, debating, MUN, TedX, guiding students interested in applying to top international universities with SAT preparation, reading essays personal statements etc
- Academy fellows will be asked to chaperoning off-campus residential and day trips, including to places of worship
