Summary of Duties
Reporting to Global Affairs Canada, the incumbent will carry out an extensive range of IM/IT responsibilities that are critical to the operation of the High Commission. These include:
- Incident Management & Support
- Identify, resolve, and document IM/IT incidents reported by mission clients.
- Provide technical and procedural guidance on LAN and IM/IT equipment usage.
- Coach mission clients one-on-one on IM/IT usage and best practices.
- Service Desk Management
- Monitor and manage mission’s IM/IT ticketing system and mailbox daily.
- Document resolutions for recurring issues and disseminate them within the IM/IT community.
- Technical Support & Equipment Handling
- Setup, support, and disassemble temporary IM/IT equipment for in-mission and out-of-mission use.
- Troubleshoot, analyze, and document issues with the IM/IT infrastructure.
- Coordinate external technician support when necessary.
- Audio/Visual and Cloud Solutions
- Provide guidance on Audio/Video conferencing and equipment use.
- Support the adoption and use of cloud applications such as Microsoft 365, Teams, and SharePoint.
- Continuous Improvement & Innovation
- Keep up-to-date with IM/IT developments within and outside Global Affairs Canada.
- Recommend mission-appropriate tech solutions for efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

Essential Qualifications
Education:
- Degree in Computer Science or a related discipline (proof required).
Language:
- Proficiency in English, both written and oral.
Experience:
- 2 years in IM/IT user support and coaching via email, video/telephone, or in-person.
- 2 years in supporting and maintaining a Local Area Network (LAN).
- 2 years managing standard end-user computing devices (Windows desktops/laptops, smartphones).
- 1 year supporting Microsoft 365 collaboration tools (Teams, SharePoint).

Operational Requirements
