Position: Branch Manager – Kitengela Branch
The Branch Manager will serve as the overall head of the Kitengela Branch and will be charged with the responsibility of managing operations, implementing strategic goals, and ensuring delivery of quality services in line with the Institute’s objectives. The successful candidate will report to the Head of Branch Operations and will play a pivotal leadership role in coordinating all branch activities while serving as the principal liaison between the Institute’s central management and the local branch community.
Key Responsibilities
- Revenue and Collection Targets
- Take full accountability for achieving the branch’s set revenue and collection targets by ensuring strategic planning and operational efficiency.
- Monitor financial performance regularly and develop corrective actions when targets are not met.
- Service Delivery
- Ensure delivery of quality services to clients and students in alignment with the Institute’s policies, standards, and procedures.
- Supervise and assess staff performance and provide ongoing training and support where needed to maintain high service standards.
- Staff and Faculty Supervision
- Allocate duties, set performance goals, and supervise both administrative staff and faculty at the branch to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
- Build a motivated team culture by fostering accountability, teamwork, and professional development.
- Marketing and Business Development
- Lead the planning and implementation of effective marketing strategies for the branch to promote KIM’s key products and services including:
- Professional Membership Services
- KIMSOM Programs
- Business Solutions Services
- Conduct market outreach and business development initiatives to expand the branch’s clientele and student base.

- Customer Relations and Client Needs
- Liaise with clients and members to gather feedback on the Institute’s services and communicate their needs to relevant departments.
- Respond to inquiries and resolve any issues raised by customers in a timely and professional manner.
- Resource Management
- Ensure prudent utilization of branch resources including financial, human, and physical assets.
- Keep accurate records of resource allocation and utilization for auditing and review purposes.
- Reporting and Documentation
- Compile and submit periodic performance reports detailing revenue collection, enrollment data, marketing progress, and membership growth.
- Provide monthly and quarterly analysis of trends and recommend appropriate strategies for performance improvement.
- Representation and Policy Implementation
- Act as the Institute’s representative in the region and ensure that decisions from the central office are communicated and implemented at the branch level.
- Uphold the Institute’s code of conduct and ensure adherence to organizational policies.
- Approval of Imprest and Services
- Approve operational imprests for the branch, including those related to administrative tasks such as photocopy services and minor operational expenditures.
- Student Welfare and Engagement
- Oversee student welfare initiatives and ensure an enriching and safe learning environment for all students.
- Chair the branch’s Students’ Welfare Committee and organize extracurricular activities that enhance student life and personal development.
- Examination Administration
- Supervise the end-to-end process of administering examinations at the branch to ensure strict adherence to integrity and timeliness.
- Liaise with the central exam office to coordinate materials, invigilation, and assessment processes.
- Admissions, Retention, and Progression
- Ensure efficient processing of student admissions and maintain accurate data on enrollment.
- Implement strategies for enhancing student progression and retention across all programs offered at the branch.
- Licenses and Compliance
- Take responsibility for renewing and acquiring all necessary licenses and permits required for the branch’s operations.
- Ensure the branch operates in full compliance with relevant legal and regulatory frameworks.
- Utility and Facilities Management
- Ensure prompt payment of utilities such as water and electricity to avoid disruptions.
- Oversee facility maintenance and ensure a clean, safe, and functional physical environment.
- Final Decision-Making and Escalation
- Make final operational decisions within the limits of branch authority.
- Escalate matters beyond the scope of branch control to relevant departments or senior management for resolution.
Knowledge and Experience Required
- A Master’s Degree in Business Administration or a related field.
- Must be a registered and active member of a recognized professional body such as IHRM or ICPAK.
- Mandatory active membership in the Kenya Institute of Management (KIM).
- At least six (6) years of cumulative experience, including:
- Minimum of one (1) year in a teaching/training role.
- Minimum of five (5) years in a management role, with proven experience in staff supervision, service delivery, and revenue generation.
