KPMG Hiring Senior Financial Management Advisor, International Development Advisory Services

We are looking for an experienced Senior Financial Management Advisor to join our International Development Advisory Services Unit in Tanzania. This role will be responsible for strategic support and expertise in the design and delivery of development projects in accordance with KPMG methodologies, policies, and procedures.
 

Key roles and responsibilities 

  • Offer high quality, professional day-to-day execution of Financial Management Advisory engagements and execution of projects 
  • Participate in financial management reviews including reviewing clients’ business processes, assessing the design, and operating effectiveness of internal controls, and assessing compliance to programme and regulatory requirements for assignments through conducting independent verifications, monitoring reviews, due diligence assessments, compliance reviews, and quality assurance reviews, among others. 
  • Assess adherence to financial management related policies, practices, process improvements, etc. for the respective clients.  
  • Business development – Translate client needs into coherent proposals and agree on service delivery terms. 
  • Risk management – Demonstrate awareness of KPMG’s risk management practices and standards and adhere to these as appropriate. 
  • Client/project management – Plan assignments/tasks and deliver to meet client expectations in a manner consistent with KPMG’s quality and performance standards • Ensure adequate and timely planning and delivery of work, including thorough documentation. 
  • Compile and complete project engagement reports within the agreed time frames. 
  • Complete engagements within the budgeted timeframe/cost and ensure that any budget overruns are communicated on a timely basis and recovered. 
  • Performance management – Take responsibility and accountability for the work and performance of self, recognizing the efforts and contributions made by other team members 
  • Learn about the latest trends in the various sectors where KPMG provides services and apply this knowledge in working on various projects. 
  • Demonstrate awareness of the broad range of KPMG service offerings by sharing and applying knowledge of the KPMG’s services and processes. 
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaboration with clients and other development stakeholders (as may be required for business development and project execution) 
  • Participate in other non-Advisory assignments where your skills and expertise are considered beneficial.
     

Academic Qualification

  • Hold a bachelor’s degree (minimum of a second upper degree) in a business-related course (Commerce, Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Statistics etc.) from a recognised University. 
  • Pursuing or having a full professional qualification (CPA, ACCA) 
  • Possession of a master’s degree is an added advantage. 
     

Experience

  • At least 3 years working experience in working experience preferably in a busy external audit, accounting or consulting environment. 
  • Experience in project management, grant assurance, compliance and impact assessments especially in the development sector.
