Below are the detailed job descriptions for each position:

1. Deputy Director, Internal Audit

Job Purpose:
The Deputy Director, Internal Audit will provide strategic leadership in the planning, execution, and reporting of internal audit activities. The role holder will be instrumental in promoting a culture of accountability, operational efficiency, and risk management across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement risk-based internal audit plans and methodologies.
  • Oversee audits and evaluations of systems, controls, policies, and procedures to ensure alignment with statutory and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide independent and objective assurance on the adequacy of internal control systems.
  • Review and appraise the soundness, effectiveness, and proper application of accounting, financial, and operational controls.

  • Liaise with external auditors and other assurance providers to coordinate audit activities and share insights.

2. Deputy Director, Legal Services

Job Purpose:
The Deputy Director, Legal Services will provide leadership in managing the institution’s legal affairs, including litigation, compliance, legal advisory, and contract management. The position ensures that the institution operates within the legal framework and minimizes legal exposure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Offer legal counsel to the Board, management, and departments on diverse matters, including policy interpretation, statutory obligations, and regulatory compliance.
  • Represent the organization in legal proceedings and liaise with external counsel on litigation strategy.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, memoranda of understanding, and other legal documents to safeguard institutional interests.
  • Interpret legal instruments such as Acts, regulations, and administrative guidelines.
  • Provide legal support in matters involving procurement, employment, licensing, and corporate governance.
  • Monitor legal developments and advise on their implications to ongoing operations and strategic objectives.

  • Ensure institutional adherence to constitutional, legislative, and international legal standards.
  • Train and guide staff on legal obligations, risk avoidance, and dispute resolution strategies.
  • Maintain a legal database and case management system for efficiency and institutional memory.

3. Deputy Director, Corporate Communications

Job Purpose:
The Deputy Director, Corporate Communications will provide leadership in crafting and delivering strategic communication, public relations, and stakeholder engagement strategies. The role aims to enhance the institution’s visibility, transparency, and reputation among internal and external audiences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive corporate communication strategy aligned with the organization’s vision and goals.
  • Oversee media relations, including drafting press releases, organizing media briefings, and cultivating media partnerships.

4. Deputy Director, Human Resource Management and Administration

Job Purpose:
The Deputy Director, Human Resource Management and Administration will provide strategic direction in human capital management and institutional administration. The role supports a high-performance culture, regulatory compliance, and effective resource utilization across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Formulate and implement human resource policies, strategies, and plans in line with best practices and legal frameworks.
  • Oversee the full spectrum of human resource functions including recruitment, performance management, training, employee relations, and succession planning.
  • Promote a results-based performance management system that fosters accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Provide leadership in employee welfare, motivation, and workplace health and safety.
