To strengthen its operations and support continued growth and academic leadership, Meru University is seeking to recruit qualified candidates to fill thirty (30) key academic, technical, and administrative positions. Below is a detailed description of each available vacancy:

1. Administrative Assistant I
The Administrative Assistant I will support daily operations across various departments. Key responsibilities include coordinating meetings, managing departmental correspondence, maintaining records and files, and supporting university administrative processes such as procurement, reporting, and logistics.

2. Farm Manager
The Farm Manager will be responsible for overseeing the University’s agricultural projects. Duties include planning and managing crop and livestock production, coordinating with faculty and students for research purposes, supervising farm workers, and ensuring sustainable agricultural practices are followed.

3. Clinical Officer I
The Clinical Officer will provide quality medical services at the University’s health facilities. Responsibilities include diagnosing and treating ailments, conducting medical examinations, maintaining health records, and supporting health promotion campaigns within the university community.

4. ICT Officers (ICT Technician)
ICT Technicians will support the University’s IT infrastructure. Tasks include installation and maintenance of hardware and software, network configuration, providing technical support to staff and students, and assisting in ICT-based instructional delivery.

5. Content Developer/Instructional Designer
This role involves designing, developing, and evaluating digital learning materials. Responsibilities include collaborating with faculty to digitize course content, creating multimedia resources, and ensuring instructional materials are aligned with learning outcomes and accessibility standards.

6. Webmaster (ICT Officer II)
The Webmaster will manage and maintain the university’s website. Duties include updating website content, ensuring security and user accessibility, optimizing web performance, and integrating digital tools to enhance user engagement.

7. Database Administrator (ICT Officer II)
This officer will manage and maintain university databases. Responsibilities include database design, security, backup and recovery, performance tuning, and supporting academic and administrative data systems.

8. IT Security Officer (ICT Officer I)
The IT Security Officer will develop and enforce IT security protocols to protect the university’s data and systems. Duties include monitoring for threats, responding to incidents, managing firewalls and encryption systems, and conducting regular security audits.

9. Software Developer (ICT Officer I)
The Software Developer will design, develop, and maintain software applications to support university operations. Key responsibilities include coding, system testing, troubleshooting, and upgrading university-specific digital platforms.

10. Chief Communications Officer
This role involves overseeing the university’s internal and external communications strategies. Responsibilities include media liaison, branding, stakeholder engagement, public relations, and the development of university publications and digital content.

11. Clinical Instructor – Midwifery
The Clinical Instructor will guide and mentor students in midwifery programs. Duties include conducting practical training sessions, supervising clinical placements, evaluating student competencies, and supporting curriculum delivery.

12. Clinical Instructor – Nursing
Similar to the above, the Clinical Instructor – Nursing will support student training in nursing practice. Tasks include conducting skill-based assessments, providing mentorship in clinical settings, and ensuring alignment with national nursing training standards.

13. Tutorial Fellow – Health Systems Management
The Tutorial Fellow will assist in teaching and research in the field of health systems management. Responsibilities include conducting tutorials, engaging in curriculum development, and supporting departmental research initiatives.

14. Tutorial Fellow – Health Records and Information Management
This position involves supporting academic and research activities in health records management. The candidate will be expected to help with student training, academic assessments, and departmental coordination.

15. Tutorial Fellow – Medical Surgical
The Tutorial Fellow will contribute to the delivery of medical-surgical nursing education. Duties include supervising laboratory sessions, guiding student projects, and facilitating seminars and tutorials.

16. Tutorial Fellow – Midwifery
The Tutorial Fellow will support teaching and research in midwifery education. Key tasks include curriculum implementation, student mentorship, and assisting in practical skills training.

17. Tutorial Fellow – Public Health
This position supports the instruction of public health theory and practice. Responsibilities include delivering lectures, supervising fieldwork, and supporting research in epidemiology, environmental health, and health promotion.

18. Lecturer – Medical Laboratory Science
The Lecturer will provide instruction and lead research in medical laboratory sciences. Duties include delivering undergraduate and postgraduate courses, supervising laboratory training, and guiding research projects.

19. Lecturer – Electrical and Electronics
This academic position involves teaching undergraduate courses in electrical and electronics engineering. The lecturer will also engage in research, curriculum development, and supervision of student projects.

20. Lecturer – Hospitality and Tourism Management
The Lecturer will teach and guide students in the areas of tourism, hospitality operations, and event management. Responsibilities include academic instruction, mentorship, and developing industry linkages.

21. Senior Lecturer – Civil Engineering
The Senior Lecturer will be responsible for leading teaching and research in civil engineering. Tasks include supervising postgraduate students, publishing research, and contributing to departmental administration and external collaborations.

22. Senior Lecturer – Mechatronics Engineering
This role requires a specialist in mechatronics engineering to teach advanced topics, conduct research, and lead innovation initiatives. Responsibilities also include student supervision and external consultancy engagements.

23. Senior Lecturer – Mechanical Engineering
The Senior Lecturer will support the delivery of core and elective mechanical engineering courses. Additional duties include research leadership, curriculum design, and supervision of technical projects.

24. Senior Lecturer – Hospitality and Tourism Management
This position requires an experienced academic to guide advanced learning in tourism and hospitality. The senior lecturer will contribute to research, curriculum reviews, and industry partnerships.

25. Senior Lecturer – Health Systems Management
The successful candidate will oversee instruction in health systems planning, health policy, and strategic management. Responsibilities include supervising theses and collaborating on health research initiatives.

26. Senior Lecturer – Entrepreneurship
This academic role entails teaching innovation and entrepreneurship, mentoring students in startup development, conducting research, and fostering enterprise culture in the university.

27. Senior Librarian
The Senior Librarian will oversee library systems and services. Duties include managing electronic resources, user services, cataloguing, and supporting research and academic programs through provision of information resources.

28. Deputy Registrar, Admissions
The Deputy Registrar will manage admissions processes at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Responsibilities include coordinating student registration, records management, application processing, and ensuring compliance with university policies.

29. Deputy Registrar, Examinations
This role involves managing the administration of university examinations. Duties include preparing examination timetables, results management, processing graduation lists, and coordinating examination logistics.

30. Deputy Finance Officer
The Deputy Finance Officer will assist in managing financial operations of the university. Responsibilities include budget preparation, financial reporting, auditing support, and supervising accounts payable and receivable.
