Job Purpose and Key responsibilities
Job Purpose:
The Investment Analyst Intern is responsible for conducting in-depth market research and financial analysis to assess the viability and potential of new ventures. The role involves contributing to strategic investment decisions, providing analytical support to help incubated companies scale, and optimizing their operational processes for sustainable growth.
Key responsibilities:
- Assist in financial modelling and valuation of potential investment opportunities.
- Conduct market research and industry analysis to identify trends, competitive landscapes, and potential risks.
- Prepare investment memoranda, presentations, and reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Support due diligence processes by gathering and analyzing data from diverse sources.
- Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to track key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Collaborate with various departments to understand business processes, identify inefficiencies, and propose solutions.
- Participate in project management activities, including defining requirements, tracking progress, and communicating updates for startups.
Knowledge, experience and qualifications required
- University Degre in Actuarial, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related quantitative field from an accredited institution
- Prior internship experience in investment banking, private equity, venture capital, management consulting, or a related analytical role.
- Familiarity with financial databases (e.g., Bloomberg, Refinitiv Eikon, Capital IQ).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) or business intelligence software.
- Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial statements.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
